The other day my son and I took the day off work because we had business to take care of. Our appointment was in the morning so we decided to do something instead of going straight home. We were trying to decide where to go eat lunch and since we had never been to Ford’s Garage we decided to go there.

I love different, and this restaurant was definitely different. I absolutely loved it!

We both decided to get a burger and since you can choose which patty you want, we both ordered the bison. I’ve had bison before but this burger was the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. You can click on the link above and then click “Food Menu” to see the other burger options.

I couldn’t stop taking photos! It is the most unique restaurants I’ve ever been to. Check it out!

The front door with gas nozzles for handles

Old Timey Gas Pumps, the front outside wall are glass garage doors

There are 3 or 4 old vehicles outside

There are even some inside the restaurant, hanging from the ceiling

The menu is leather

The napkins are grease rags secured by metal clamps

My bison burger with fries

Anthony’s burger with mac & cheese, served in a mini cast iron skillet

The bathroom door handle was also a gas pump nozzle

The sink was a tire, the faucet a gas pump nozzle

Photo of the water running

Urinals were beer kegs (son took this photo of course)

Don’t you think this is a neat restaurant? We both loved it and we’ll definitely be going back!

Three Things Thursday

Thing One

I’ve been reading different blog posts about bullet journals, and have been thinking about getting one. When I went online to check them out, I found these two and had to have both of them. The “Be Still And Know That I Am God” will be daily Bible Verses and Christian thoughts.

The “Footprints In The Sand” will be for posting something good that happened to me that day and miscellaneous positive thoughts.

Thing Two

My daughter Kilah and I went to town the other day to do some shopping and we stopped at Texas Roadhouse for lunch. They have the best steaks, almost melt in your mouth. Seriously good. This hung on the wall above our booth.

Thing Three

After lunch we stopped at Bed, Bath, & Beyond and I saw this wall plaque and it made me smile, and then brought a tear to my eye. I can remember my dad singing “You Are My Sunshine” to my mom from as far back as I can remember, (no, she didn’t leave him for someone else 🙂 and he was always leaving her love notes around the house for her to find. I knew when I saw the sign I was taking it home with me. There was only one sign, but if there had been more I might have bought them all to hang here and there throughout the house.

unnamed-1

My son Anthony brought this tiny kitty home because they found 4 of them abandoned where he works. The other three were taken home by his co-workers, so they all have homes. Although I didn’t want another animal, she has grown on me, especially since we have to bottle feed her. Isn’t she cute?

This is not the sandwich I had planned to make and share today, but someone left the Chipotle mayo at work (shhh, it was Anthony). I’ve been seeing a commercial for some brand of mayo, can’t remember which one, that says a grilled cheese with mayo instead of butter is so much better. Since my son Anthony and I both love grilled cheese sandwiches every once in a while, I wanted to test that out for myself. Luckily I had all the ingredients.

Not the best photos, but I was in a hurry.

Thoughts
Anthony and I both thought these tasted almost the same as when made with butter except that there was a slight sweet taste to it. We both said we’d rather stick with butter, but mayo would be good for anyone who wouldn’t mind a slightly sweet grilled cheese sandwich.
