Getting ready to start The Office again. My son Jeremy and his wife Susie say it’s hilarious. I tried it a while back and didn’t like it, but they told me to keep watching it, it gets better in the second season. I’ll give it another chance.

BLT’s
Sesame Chicken, chicken fried Rice, Broccoli
Chicken Provolone, spinach, carrots

New To Me Stuff:
Dan O’s Original Seasoning It’s very good!

Today’s To Do List…
I’m off so I’ll either be going out to eat or will be relaxing after  14 days of being busy. 12 days of work, going to a drs. appt. one day & another day going to getting blood work

Looking forward to…
Mother and Daughter day. I worked or had drs. appts. for 2 weeks so we’ve missed them

A Favorite Bible Verse…
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Matthew 7:15

From the camera…

This house is in a nearby town. The lot had trees on it and the people who bought it decided not to cut down any trees and just designed the house around the tree. You can see from the roof that they did that. I go by there every time I’m going past there.

  1. Glad you are finally getting some time off. I like the sound of The Littlest Library. That house is quite unique. They did a great job of designing it to fit right in. Have a good weekend!

    • I’m glad to get some time off too, I need it! The Littlest Library is good, I’m half way through it. I love that they didn’t cut it down, I love trees and it’s very unique! Thanks, you have a good week too.

  2. That’s a beautiful house! So great that they could preserve the existing trees.

    • I agree 100%. I was so sad that we had to cut a few down, but one was over 60 yrs. old, and it was huge! The roots were breaking up the driveway and sidewalk to the front door 🙁

  3. I love that! It always mystifies me when people buy a house and cut down all the trees so I love the idea of designing the house around the tree. I have The Littlest Library on my TBR. It sounds like a great read. Have a wonderful week!

    • I LOVE trees! I love watching the birds that sit on the limbs, I love watching them eat and drink out of our feeders, I love the shade they give especially in the heat and humidity in Florida. Most people who cut down trees have a good reason. It may be because the tree has rot, is dead, etc.

When we moved into our present house there were some we had to cut down. One was over 60 years old and was very tall and big around. It’s roots were busting up our driveway and walkway to the front door. Very sad but had to be done 🙁

  4. You have got no idea how relevant your Bible Verse is to my life this week!! The Lord really works in mysterious ways and He will make sure that His message comes through no matter what. Amen.

Love that tree-house design. I am currently reading The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak and can’t recommend it enough.

Have a wonderful and blessed week ahead!

    • When I was choosing a Bible Verse for today I almost posted a different one. I changed my mind and posted this. Glad you needed this verse, God works in mysterious ways.

I’ll check out that book. Thank you, same to you!

  5. Sounds like you are getting some much deserved rest and relaxation Vicki. I love that picture of the house and trees. I tried The Office one time years ago and the humor just wasn’t for me for some reason. I know others who love the show. Guess, I’m more of a Seinfeld, Frasier and Golden Girls fan. (At one time we had (2) cats I named Frasier & Niles). Have a good week.

    • I couldn’t get interested in The Office either but they keep telling me it gets better in the 2nd season so I’ll try it one more time. I loved all those shows too, but my favorite comedies are The Big Bang Theory, Corner Gas, and Community. If you haven’t watched them you should check them out. Have a great week.

  6. I’m waiting for The Littlest Library. Hope you are enjoying it.

I tried The Office at my sister’s bidding. The humor wasn’t really for me, but perhaps I should give it another try, too.

Enjoy having a little time off! You have earned it.

    • I’m enjoying The Littlest Library. My son and daughter in law keep telling me it gets really funny in season 2. Thanks, I only had 2 days off in over two weeks and those days were spent going to drs. appts.

  7. The house with tree pic is amazing! I hope you enjoy your mother/daughter time, Vicki. I hope you are well.

  8. Vicki, we had trees removed that looked dicey after hurricane Michael came through. We were fortunate none hit the house but I do love the rest of the trees as they blend to woods. Our visiting birds is a great pleasure to watch.

I would eat a pimento cheeseburger with you!

  9. A pimento cheeseburger sounds good to me!
Have fun when you finally have time off.

  10. Clever house design!
Nowhere for Very Long sounds like a great book! Taco salad–I might just have to make some of that this week–thanks for the suggestion 🙂

So glad you get some time off–have fun and enjoy your time with your daughter!

  11. I hope you have a great time off. I want to read The Littlest Library.

I love the picture of the house!

    Have a great week ahead!

    • Thanks, I’m off tomorrow and a few days last week. A coworker who was out for a few months due to health reasons is back and wanted to work a few of my days. I said yes of course.

  12. Time off is always nice! I am very much over the humidity of summer, looking forward to cooler days. The house is super cool, thanks for sharing!

  13. I’m glad you are finally getting some time off! How stressful for you! I love that house that was designed around the trees – absolutely something I would do! I think the Relative Race to you is called The Amazing Race in the US and here in Canada. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

    • Thanks, I’m off a few days next week! The Relative Race is very different than The Amazing Race (I also live in the US) It shows 4 teams of 2 who are wanting to meet relatives that they’ve never seen and didn’t know about until they took a DNA test. They drive to different cities in the US with a time limit and participating in challenges along the way. The team who goes over their specific time in reaching their relative gets an X. Three X’s and you’re out of the game. The last 2 couples left have one last challenge to compete in and the winner wins $50,000. It’s very good!

  14. Littlest Library is on my TBR – i’ll be interested in seeing what you think

  15. I started watching The Office and then it went to a streaming service I don’t subscribe to so I used some gift cards to get the box set and now it’s on a service that I do subscribe to. So annoying! And now it’s been so long since I started and stopped, I need to start it over again. lol

Pimiento cheeseburgers does NOT sound weird, it sounds delicious! So does Taco Salad, BLTs and Sesame Chicken.

Enjoy your relaxing, eating out, and mother daughter day!

    • I still haven’t gotten groceries so I have no pimento but I’ll order some in a day or so. And yes it does sound weird 🙂

      Thanks, I’ll enjoy both!

  16. I love that these people built their house around the tree! Have a great week and I hope you get a little more time off.

    • I’ve been driving by that house for over 30 years and I still love looking at it.

I did get a few more days off next week, a coworker wanted a few of my days 🙂

  17. I enjoyed the Littlest Library. I hope you are liking it too.

I loved The Office but when I first started watching I wasn’t too thrilled. After a few more episodes, I thought it was a great show.

    Have a great week!

    • I’m enjoying the book, only a few hours of it left.

My son and daughter in law have been telling me the same thing for a few years so I decided to give it a try. If you can get Corner Gas or Community give them both a try, I loved both!

  18. That house is interesting. I hope that the tree works out for them. Most trees need to be trimmed and otherwise maintained so I’m not sure how that will work out in an interior location.

I liked The Office when it first come out. I used to be the manager of a small isolated office in Oklahoma for British Petroleum and a lot of the scenes were familiar. My favorite was when BP wanted to give a local politician a campaign check. A delegation of BP lobbyists, maybe two or three, would fly to Oklahoma City, meet with local guy and then come to office where the candidate was along with his people, maybe two or three and he’d give us a speech. There was only seven of us in the office so we were outnumbered by the delegations and the checks were jokes. Usually around $250. I thought it was hilarious.

  19. Glad you’re finally getting to have the overdue mother-daughter day… they are so precious! I’ve been on a BLT kick lately. Sometimes we add guacamole and call it a California BLT, lol!

  20. So is that tree is the middle of a courtyard within their house? I’m trying to figure out where the trunk is. LOL. You sound like you need a rest break after working too much. The show the Office is quirky but it’s not for everyone. My husband liked it but I was just so-so on it. Hope you have a great week and stay cool.

    • Yes, it is. When I was growing up our drs. offices had a live tree in the middle and the stairs going to the 2nd floor went up right beside the tree. I thought it was amazing!

Thanks, I hope you’re having a great week!
