New To Me Stuff: Well, when it rains it pours. I thought I was finished having to buy kitchen items but last week my  countertop pizza maker that I’ve had for probably more than 20 years and LOVED, started not fully cooking the pizza so I had to get another one. This is not the one I had but it’s the same kind, different manufacturer. When looking for a replacement I saw this and decided to get it because it can be used for so many other foods and had great reviews. I made a pizza in it last night and it was so well done and crisp.

Today’s To Do List…
Nothing, just stay home and read, watch tv, maybe take a nap

Looking forward to…
Going to see Where The Crawdads Sing with my daughter, asap

Question Of The Week…
My daughter and I went to see the move Elvis last week. It’s longer than most movies at 2h 39m and we LOVED every second of it. Are you a fan of Elvis? If you are, you need to go see this! There were only me and my daughter in the Elvis theater until about 5 min. before the movie started. Then a man and woman came in and sat way behind us. There are multiple movies showing and it was a workday so I wasn’t worried about being too close to anyone else. I didn’t expect only 2 other people in the huge room though, but was happy about that.

A Favorite Bible Verse…

  1. I am a big fan of pizza so I will certianly be checking out your links to the countertop pizza makers. Great menu this week.

    • I LOVED the pizza maker that quit on me 🙁 It cooked pizza just the way I like them every time. I was so sad when it started not making them as crispy. I’ll love this new one too I think, it can be used for so many more things than just pizza.

  2. What a peaceful scene in the photo! I love the reflection on the water.

I’m eager to see Where the Crawdads Sing, but will wait until it’s available to stream.

    Enjoy your relaxing day!

    • The theater is in a semi small town and has 12 movies going at a time. There were only 2 other people in the room with us and they sat far away from us, thankfully.

  3. I loved the novel Where the Crawdads Sing so am nervous to see the movie. I look forward to seeing what you think of it.

A countertop pizza maker? I’ve never heard of that, but what a great idea.

    • I’m so excited to see the movie!

I found the countertop pizza maker on Amazon a little over 20 years ago. It was one of the best buys I’ve ever made! I’m sure I’ll love my new one too.

  4. I love your photo, very pretty and peaceful looking.

  5. Such a pretty picture Vicki. Isn’t it always something that needs to be replaced these days. Things just don’t last like they used to these days. I hope you love The Swimmers as much as I did, it was so different and makes you think. I hope you have a good week Vicki.

    • I mostly agree with you but that pizza maker lasted over 20 years! It was one of the best purchases I ever made. I’ll miss it 🙁

The Swimmers was good. I’ll post my review in a few days.

Thanks, I hope you have a good week too!

  6. That’s a very peaceful scene in the photo!

Glad the new pizza maker works well. It’s always a bummer when something used and loved conks out/breaks.

    Happy Sunday!

    • Thanks shari!

I LOVE my small kitchen appliances and it is sad when they conk out! I had that thing for over 20 years, used it all the time, it was like a family member 🙁

      Happy Sunday!

  7. Hi there! I have a little pizza pan that I love, but my husband loves pizza in the oven and his absolute dream is to have an outside pizza oven. One day!

Have a good week and happy reading.

    Elza Reads

    • I think it did as good if not better than in the oven, it made a perfectly browned and crisp pizza, just the way we like them.

You have a good week too!

  8. My son and his family in Chicago all went to see Elvis and they loved it. They wore masks because there were a lot of people.

I am very tempted by that pizza maker!

I read and really liked The Swimmers.

    • It was so good! We knew it wouldn’t be crowded because it was on a weekday at 12:30.

I bought some pizza rolls, fish sticks, chicken tenders etc. to try in it. It also says it makes sandwiches. I’m making sandwiches in my air fryer or panini press now but can’t wait to try in it too.

The Swimmers was good, but not what I expected.

  9. Can you believe I’ve never ever heard of a countertop pizza maker?? The old one you had looks really good… and I’m intrigued by the new one, too. My ancient crockpot quit working last week, so I’ll be getting a new one asap.

I’m looking forward to the Crawdads movie (loved the book!) but will probably wait and stream it. We haven’t been to the movies since 2019 🙁

Beautiful photo. Hope you have a great week, Vicki.

    • I have a few crockpots of different sizes and a few Instant Pots with a crockpot feature so I’m set there if one quits.

I hadn’t been to a movie theater since ’19 either, but things have calmed down here (for now) and I knew there wouldn’t be many people at the movies at that time.

Thanks, the photo was taken outside of my work.

Hope you have a great week too!

  10. Yay for an uncrowded theater and for loving the Elvis movie. My grandma loved Elvis and think it would be interesting to see the movie. Have a great week!

    • I was never a huge fan of his since I grew up in the 60’s & 70’s. I did like some of his songs and movies during that time. But after seeing this movie I can say I’m an Elvis fan. You have a good week too!

  11. Hope the new pizza maker will work out as well as the old one. I will be reading the Swimmers soon, and like the Beach Trap. Someone said it remined them of the old movie, the Parent Trap.

    • I’m hoping I love the pizza maker. I really like that you can make so many other things in it. I enjoyed The Swimmers. I liked both of the The Parent Trap movies, especially the one from 1998 because I LOVE Dennis Quaid!

  12. Glad the new pizza cooker worked out! The Elvis movie sounds good but wow that’s long. I’ll probably wait and watch when it eventually streams.

  13. I watched The Challenge USA this week, too. I feel like I’m going to be at a disadvantage, however, since I’ve never watched Big Brother, and so many of the contestants are on that show.

Glad you are happy with your new pizza maker.

    • Not just Big Brother, they’re also from Survivor, The Amazing Race, and Love Island. I watch all of them except for Love Island.

Thanks, I’m loving the pizza maker so far!

  14. It’s great when you can use an appliance regularly for years and it wears out only after giving good service. Like your pizza maker!

The fragile kitchen items that drive me crazy because they wear out so fast are non-stick pans. I’ve tried expensive ones and cheap ones and recommended ones and random ones. They all die — if not from the coating wearing out, then they get wobbly on the bottom and don’t heat right. And my smooth-top stove would wear out if I switched to cast iron — it cost a lot more than the pans, so I’m very protective!

    • I know what you mean about your smooth-top stove! I have a set of the Samsung refrigerator, dishwasher, & electric air fryer stove that’s stainless steel. I’m afraid to use my cast iron skillet and dutch oven the stove and afraid that the fridge and dishwasher will get scratched or something. My old set wasn’t stainless steal and it didn’t worry me.

  15. That pizza thingie looks like a fun kitchen gadget!

  16. I loved the movie Elvis, I was kind of a half generation removed from the core fans of his. I loved his corny movies and respected his singing ability.

I loved the Crawdad’s book and the wife and I are planning to see the movie soon.

  17. I have the Swimmers and must get to it soon. Hope you liked it.

  18. Drumsticks sound great. I haven’t read swimmers but plan too. I was born in the 80’s and very rarely get to mention things from that era less it has to do with cartoons and sitcoms.
