  1. I agree. If we get freezing temperatures, we should also get at least a light dusting of snow. It’s not freezing here, but it’s only warming up into the 50s. That’s a little too cold for me.

We are loving All Creatures Great and Small. I liked the old series so much that I was worried I wouldn’t care for the new actors, but I needn’t have worried.

    Wonderful Bible verse.

    • I doubt we get snow because I’ve lived here since the end of ’85 and haven’t seen any yet, I can still hope though.

      I love ACG&S too.

I love that verse too, especially relevant since the end of ’19!

  2. My pregnancy was so easy. I had no cravings, no aversions, no morning sickness, etc. However, my hair did go straight when she was born! Super strange. It took about 5 years for my wavy curls to come back.

  3. Enjoy the warm, to me. weather! It’s snowing outside right now through tomorrow, and it’ll stick!

  4. I don’t usually buy premade meals, but those beef tips and gravy sound like a perfect item to take on our rv road trips. Might be good with some mushrooms and sour cream (stroganoff) with mashed potatoes. Thanks for telling us about it!

    • I don’t usually buy premade meals either but I had never tried beef tips and since my son loves them I wanted to try a cheaper way so if I didn’t like them I wouldn’t be throwing a bunch of money down the garbage disposal. Now I’m going to find a recipe and make them and see what I think. I don’t like mushrooms or stroganoff, but I love mashed potatoes.

  5. Wow crazy, FL cold! It was a high of 34 today but almost felt like a heatwave after teens and wind last week. Was someone in your family sick? Hoping I misinterpreted your post.

  6. If I could I would send you some snow. We woke up to a few more inches of the stuff this morning. I hope your weather warms to more seasonal temps. Have a good week, Vicki!

    • I remember coming to Florida from Ohio for Christmas vacation when I was growing up and it was never cold. Since I moved here in “85 it sometimes gets colder.

  7. Mmm pulled pork casserole!

I agree, it is not fair to have 29F and no snow.

No kids but had a coworker who could not even smell chinese food while pregnant or she would nearly puke.

  8. 29 degrees there?! Yikes!! We are going down to the 40s tonight… crazy for a barrier island, but there are freeze warning inland. I’ve been wearing fleece and my SmartWool socks today. Brrr!

I’ll be keeping an eye out for your thoughts on both Sankofa and Midnight Chicken. They’re both on my list.

No real cravings when I had the twins, but for my oldest daughter I NEEDED to eat Arby’s roast beef sandwiches… lol!!

    • The Arby’s where I lived in Ohio had a sub type sandwich in the 80’s that I HAD to get everyday, I LOVED them! Then I moved to Florida and didn’t see them. I wish I knew how they made them. Typing this I realized I could do a search and see if I can find a copycat recipe! I hope so 🙂

  9. wow, 29 in Florida!
It’s very cold around Chicago, but alas that’s normal!!
Enjoy your week with some nice comfort food to go with the temperature.
I did some hachis parmentier recently.
    My post is here: https://wordsandpeace.com/2022/01/23/sunday-post-50-1-23-2022/

  10. It’s been in the 30s for several days here and I am NOT loving it. I live in the south to keep this from happing. Meatloaf sounds so good! It’s one of those dishes I forget about but it’s a favorite. I’m adding that to my upcoming menu soon. Have a great week!

    • I grew up in Ohio where it gets very cold and has a lot of snow. I loved when it snowed and miss it so much. My sisters and other family members still live there and when it snows a lot they send me photos 🙂

  11. Wow, that’s cold for Florida. Enjoy your day trips with your son! I’m excited for my baby to be older so we can do more things. Right now, she’s small and hyper. It’s hard to take her anywhere.

  12. Enjoy your trips with your son. If you had snow, there would be a lot of complaining by people. 🙂

    • Thanks Bill, I love going on day trips with one of my kids or all of them! If we had snow and people started complaining, I’d just ignore them 🙂

  13. That is crazy for Florida, but the high is almost low enough that I could feel comfortable and the low would allow me to wear plenty of my wool creations LOL!

    • That’s true 🙂

I’ve always said if it’s cold you can always add more clothes, but if it’s hot you can only take so much off. With the humidity in Florida taking as much as you can off doesn’t help much sometimes.
