  1. I remember enjoying The Husband’s Secret some time ago.
I’ve watched a couple of movies on TV, including When Harry Met Sally, and another on Netflix.
    Love your dog.

    Keep being busy! Happy holidays!

  2. Our book club is planning to read one of the Elderly Lady books next spring. I haven’t seen a review of these, so I’ll look to see what you think.

I like your list of Christmas movies you plan to watch. My favorite Christmas movies are It’s a Wonderful Life, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Charlie Brown Christmas. I’d love to see the Marlo Thomas remake of It’s a Wonderful Life, too.

    Kaiyo looks very festive!

  3. Kaiyo is adorable!

I love your list of Christmas movies. Our favorite is A Christmas Story. We also like – How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Charlie Brown Christmas, Home Alone and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

Luke 12:40 is such a good reminder.

Friday night into Saturday we got around a foot of snow. Your weather sounds lovely.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  4. I love your little dog. It’s good that the groomer only gave him a collar and let him keep his dignity!

    best… mae at

  5. I have (4) favorite Christmas movies: Elf, It’s a Wonderful Life A Christmas Story and Home Alone (the original).

    Your dog is adorable Vicki.

Cube steak – cooked very very tender with sauteed onions was a weekly meal when I was growing up. I haven’t had it in 50 years perhaps LOL

    • Thanks for letting me know what your favorite Christmas movies are. The last two are on my list.

      Kaiyo says Thank You!

I don’t know why but I haven’t had cubed steak in a very long time either, I love it.

  6. Kaiyo looks adorable in the festive collar!

reading your list of Christmas shows/movies sure brings back memories of when our daughter was small and we would watch Rudolph, Frosty, Charlie Brown, etc every year. I think I could recite them by heart! One year she was really into Garfield’s Christmas and we watched it every day for a month!

Enjoy your slow cooker! I’ll be making our Christmas Eve lasagne in my slow cooker!

    • I’ve watched all those kids Christmas shows every year since I was a kid. I do the same with The Wizard of Oz and the original Cinderella.

I love my crock pot and slow cookers, I have 6 of them. Yes, I’m addicted to small kitchen appliances.

We had ham for Thanksgiving so I’ll probably make a turkey for Christmas. We usually have a turkey and a ham for both but there’s not so many of us anymore.

  7. Kaiyo looks festive with her Christmas collar. It’s a Wonderful Life is my favorite Christmas movie. Have a wonderful day, Vicki.

  8. Kaiyo looks so cute with the Christmas collar… very festive! Favorite Christmas movies here are Elf, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, and The Family Stone . We watch them every year.

  9. My favorite Christmas movie has got to be It’s a Wonderful Life. I haven’t watched it in a number of years so maybe I’ll make time for it this year.

    Have a great week!

  10. I see Sunshine Chicken on the menu!!!! My recipe said to cook it at 350 but that was not getting the skin crispy AT ALL so I ended up cranking the heat. Of course you might be a person who doesn’t eat the skin so it doesn’t matter. Like my Mom. lol

I was going to name a favorite Christmas movie but they aren’t really Christmas movies…they just have a Christmas scene in them. Penny Serenade (Clark Gable) and Desk Set (Spencer Tracy & Katharine Hepburn). I also love Christmas in Connecticut, but not as much as I like the other two. And of course I love Elf. Oh! And It Happened On 5th Avenue, but that’s another one that has a Christmas scene but isn’t really a Christmas movie. Do those count? lol

    • I love the skin, especially if it’s crispy. I’m pretty sure those movies count, I’m seeing Die Hard everywhere as a favorite Christmas movie. I haven’t watched any of those so I’ll be adding them to my list.

  11. It’s A Wonderful Life is my favorite. I haven’t had a chance to watch it this year, though. I’ve only been in Florida for 2 years (originally from New York), so I’m not all that anxious to see snow. LOL I’m still enjoying the sun shining in winter 🙂

Hope you have a great week!

    • I’ve only watched that movie once or twice, but I like it. I’ve been in Florida since the end of ’75 so I really miss snow.

  12. What a great meal plan, love it. I don’t have a slow cooker anymore and wonder if I’d use a new one.
    Kaiyo is so adorable.

  13. Kaiyo is so cute! I love the Christmas collar. I got a smaller slow cooker after having a big 8 qt forever and I love it so much. It’s so much easier to clean and store. Looking forward to seeing what Christmas movies you end up deciding on and hope you are having a great week!

  14. Your dog is so cute! Christmas-y too. Now what’s this about “snow” in Florida?! Joking right? I like Christmas movies … how about adding Elf to your list and Love Actually … two fun ones. Have a great week.

    • Thanks Susan, I think she’s adorable, but then I think most all pet parents think their pet is adorable.

Snow in Florida is just wishful thinking 🙂 I’ve only watched Elf once or twice but I loved it so will probably watch it this year too. I’ve never seen Love Actually, so will watching in the next few weeks.

  15. It was warm there this past weekend! Today, it was 33 when I got up. My daughter arrives today and it’s colder here than Missouri which is expected to be 75 today.

Fave Christmas movie is probably The Family Stone because it’s funny and serious, and just puts me in the mood for Christmas. BUT, it’s not Christmas unless I have watched Christmas Vacation a few times
and Four Christmases is becoming a real fave. That church scene. I die.

    • Glad your kids are able to spend Christmas with you!

It’s crazy to me that the weather can be 33° or lower in places like California and Florida!

I’ll have to watch The Family Stone, I’ve never seen it and JoAnn @ Gulfside Musing also said it was one of her favorites. I put Christmas Vacation and Four Christmases on my list also. Thanks for recommending them!
