From the camera…

A friend of mine said that he loves Grilled Cheese with Peanut Butter, dipped in ketchup. I said that didn’t sound good at all. So he told me to try it, and I did. I took a photo of it as proof. Surprisingly it was pretty good. I still like Peanut Butter & Bologna sandwiches better, it’s so good. My dad ate them when I was I kid and got me and my brother eating them. I don’t remember if my sister’s ate them, I’ll have to ask them.

  1. That peanut butter sammie sounds interesting…but I am not sure about it LOL

  2. Your reading seems to be on a roll. Not sure what my fav TV shows are: but right now I’m into American Rust, The Morning Show, and Nine Perfect Strangers. All of them have a tinge of dark behavior so I like a little Seinfeld … to help with laughs. Cheers.

  3. Peanut butter goes with ANYTHING — and someone will have tried ANYTHING you can think of with peanut butter. I must admit ketchup sounds weird, but in fact ketchup is often made as sweet as jam so why not?

  4. Thanks for the shoutout on the Chicken Frito dish

I didn’t know about some of the shows you mentioned and am curious about Chicago PD. We are also looking forward to New Amsterdam and have seen the first two seasons. Hoping the library gets season 3 soon.

The grilled cheese and peanut butter is an interesting combination. My sister-in-law used to chop bologna and mix in peanut butter. She wouldn’t tell me what it was until I tried it because you can be prejudiced before tasting I guess. It was good.

    • You’re welcome on the shoutout! I’ll give you another one when I post my thoughts on it.

My favorite sandwich with peanut butter as far back as I can remember is with Bologna. It’s soooo good!

  5. 97 Orchard sounds pretty interesting – I’ll have to take a look at it. Grilled Cheese with peanut butter dipped in ketchup sounds so wrong LOL! And yet, I can imagine it tasting so delicious. I’ll have to give it a try.

    Have a good week!

  6. I like grilled cheese and salami. I don’t think ketchup would be good with peanut butter. 🙂

  7. Oh dear, that poor grilled cheese! 🙂 Peanut butter and cheese, maybe (now you have me curious), but ketchup? Can’t see it.
I thought Tina’s casserole looked yummy too!

  8. Glad you were able to get to some reviews!

We don’t have any current TV shows we watch, we tend to watch older shows. We have loved Vera and Better Call Saul, which are current. We are watching NYPD Blue now and before that we watched Hill Street Blues.

The grilled cheese with peanut butter dipped in ketchup sounds just right to me! When I was a little girl I ate peanut butter and jelly with potato chips dipped in ketchup most days. So, doesn’t seem weird to me.

    Have a good week!

    • Thanks, I surprised myself by finishing and writing reviews for 2 books in the same week.. Now I’m trying to find a suspense/thriller that I want to keep listening too. I started and DNF 3 in the last few week. The beginning of them all just didn’t grab my attention.

I’ve eaten sandwiches with chips between the bread & dipped chips in ketchup since I was a kid too. I had to have Ruffles because they didn’t break when you dipped them.

  10. Grilled cheese is a fantastic food, but I have never tried it with PB.

My favorite TV shows? New Girl, Schitt’s Creek, Big Bang (all comedies). On the more serious side: Call the Midwife and Endeavor.

  11. I’ve had The Husband’s Secret on my wish list forever!! Will look forward to hearing what you think… and maybe I’ll finally pick it up.

  12. Ooo, cheese and peanut butter. What kind of cheese did you use. I want to try it. Have a good week.

  13. I love the book Because of Winn-Dixie. I used to say it was my favorite book. It makes me feel so happy. Dogs! Don’t you love them? Thanks for dropping by my blog and cheering me up a bit about our recent spat with a Covid quarantine.

    • I’ve been a huge dog lover all my life, but I also love all animals. My favorite book my mom bought me when I was 3 years old is still my favorite ever book is Are You My Mother by P.D. Eastman. I love it so much that one year for my birthday my husband and son bought me a new copy and the stuffed dog from the cover that was available. I love them!

You’re very welcome, you and your family are in my prayers.

  14. Hooray for breaking your audio slump. The book I’m listening to right now isn’t holding my interest and the one prior to it wasn’t the greatest either, but my print reading has been very good lately.

Grilled cheese and peanut butter with ketchup? I don’t think I’ll be trying that anytime soon. 😉

Favorite tv shows? I posted this at the beginning of the year and will post an update at the end of the year. There are so many great shows to stream these days, but regular tv is awful.

    • The sandwich was better than I thought it would be but it’s not one that I’ll add to my list of favorites 🙂

Sometimes I’m overloaded with shows I want to watch and other times, like in the summer I only have a few that interest me.

      I’ll check out your link.

  15. Now I will have to try that grilled cheese with peanut butter!

I noticed your Moriarty book, The Husband’s Secret, and I think that was the first one I read from her. It started me on a journey loving her books.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  16. Your foodie things made me smile. I love peanut butter but am quirky about it. To me it only goes on a Thomas’ English Muffin or on a spoon & into my mouth:)

I rarely eat grilled cheese (or much cheese) but, if I do it’s always with tomato soup!

Have a fun week. Hope you get to see your daughter.

    • LOL! You should try a peanut butter & bologna sandwich. It’s very good. I rarely eat bologna anymore but I get a craving for that sandwich every so often.

I’ve never been a fan of tomato soup. When I was a kid my brother and I would go to our best friends Grandmother’s house once in a while and she would always make us grilled cheese and tomato soup. My mom and dad didn’t ever make us eat anything we didn’t like but since she took the time to make it for us I felt like I couldn’t not eat it. It was not my favorite but it didn’t hurt me 🙂

  17. Rain would be nice. Not so much humidity. I hope you are enjoying your reading. I enjoyed The Husband’s Secret. Grilled Cheese and Peanut Butter is an interesting combination. I am not sure I’m brave enough to try it. I hope you have a great week!

  18. I love grilled cheese but I’m not sure about the peanut butter part, although I do like peanut butter. Someday I should try it.

I watch most of the same shows you do. I love The Good Doctor. Great show.

Hope you have a great week!

    • If you try it and/or the peanut butter with bologna, let me know what you thought. I got sidetracked and stopped watching The Good Doctor so I need to hurry up and catch up.

  19. Hope you had a lovely relaxing day yesterday!

Don’t watch/have TV, so no favourite shows.

    • My doggie was sick the last few days so I was worried about her. She’s better now though thankfully.

I’ve watched tv since I was old enough to hold my head up, can’t imagine not having one. I do know a few people who rarely ever watch it, my oldest Granddaughter is one of them. When she does it’s usually a movie.

  20. I’m so glad that you are back into audiobooks again. Fingers crossed that your print reading mojo gets going again, too.

I hope you are enjoying Because of Winn-Dixie. I’ve read that one with students. It’s a favorite of mine.

I like the sound of 97 Orchard, too.

Hope you enjoy all the new shows as well!

    • I think my new Air Pods helped. My other wireless headphone hurt my ears after a while so I didn’t us them much. I finally decided on the ones I wanted and bought them.

I’m enjoying 97 Orchard when I do sit down to read it. Shouldn’t be too long before I finish it.

I’m SO EXCITED for the shows to come back on!!!

  21. Just about every show you’ve mentioned are regular viewing for me. I’m also looking forward to the new season of Great British Bake Off which should start next week.
My daughter and I are finishing up Sleepy Hollow, I’m not sure what we will watch next.
I do like peanut butter on toast, but I’m not brave enough to try it with cheese or tomato sauce.

Wishing you a great reading week

  22. The Husband Secret is a really good read, although I know a couple of people didn’t enjoy it as much. I love Liane Moriarty’s books overall.

I am sooooo out with TV shows! Don’t watch a lot of TV. I think I need to browse through your list a bit.

Hope you will have a good week ahead!

  23. There is a place here that has peanut butter bacon burgers. I love them, especially “Thai Style” which adds habanero pepper coins and sirracha sauce. My mouth is watering just writing about then.

  24. Fingers crossed you get that visit with your daughter. I don’t watch much TV, I’m either reading, blogging or blog hopping! Have a great week.

  25. My husband loves peanut butter and cheese sandwiches and I’ve always thought that was super weird but I must admit that the grilled version looks yummy! I have The Husband’s Secret on my TBR. I’ve enjoyed the other books by Moriarty I’ve read.. I hope you have a great week!

    • I’ve never known anyone to eat a grilled cheese & pb sandwich other than my friend Mark. Good to know there are other people who do 🙂

The Husband’s Secret will be my first book by her.

  26. Grilled Cheese and Peanut Butter! Two of my favorite things although I have never had them together. I will have to try it.

  27. When I was in college I did the bologna and crunchy PB combo. Delish.

    • WOW! I’ve been eating them since I was a kid and have never known anyone else other than my brother and father (who ate them before we were even born) who has eaten them! So glad to know someone else has! And yes, always crunchy! I don’t like smooth.

  28. I do like grilled cheese sandwiches but still not sure about PB on them!
We do catch Chicago PD every once in a while. I’m very excited about the new Dexter season. Hope you have a great time catching up with your daughter.

    • The sandwich was better than I thought it would be.

      I’ve never watched Dexter.

Didn’t get to go with my daughter today, my pup has not been feeling very good 🙁

  29. Your menu plan for the week makes me so hungry. It all sounds so good. I, such a lazy cook. I watch Netflix for the most part. I like getting into a series. The latest was Dexter which I loved. Now I have to wait until November for another season.

    • I’ve been cooking for up to 9 people at a time since ’76 so I’m not a fan of cooking anymore either. I may check Dexter out, I’ve never seen it.
