To join Readers Imbibing Peril just read as many mystery, suspense, thriller, horror, dark fantasy, supernatural, or Gothic books as you want between  September 1 – October 31st, and post about them on your blog, Instagram, or Twitter.  You can use #RIPXVI or tag @PERILREADERS to connect with other participants.

I don’t read horror, dark fantasy, supernatural, or Gothic, so that leaves me with mystery, thriller & suspense. Those are 2 of my favorite genres so I’m planning on reading:

Visit @perilreaders to check out various challenges and information on this year’s group read

I plan to read:
That Night by Chevy Stevens (review)
The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty
Billy Summers by Stephen King

I decided to join this year because I love these genres but haven’t read it in a while. Are you joining this year?

  1. I am joining in on the fun, too. My post is scheduled for Thursday. No formal list of books but My Heart is a Chainsaw is probably going to be read for this. Everyone is talking about it. I want to see what all the fuss is about.

  2. What fun! I wondered why a blog post had that in the title!

  3. Yeah, glad you are joining. I am going to begin Billy Summers next week.

    • I used to read King’s books as soon as they were available, but then stopped and only read one of his books every so often. I went back and forth on whether to read this one but finally caved. I’m excited to start it.

  4. Hope you enjoy your books for this, Vicki! I love this challenge. It fits me very well. I’ve got the Chevy Stevens and also the Paula Hawkins books on my list for reading at some point. Enjoy!

  5. Glad you’re in, Vicki! I seem to save up books in these genres for this time of year, too. Will be curious to hear what you think of King’s latest.

  6. I am going to participated for the first time this year and am looking forward to joining the fun!

  7. I’m planning to participate, but like you, I will stick to mysteries and thrillers. I used to enjoy scary books, but not so much anymore. Have fun!

  8. I’m so behind on my blog reading but just had to say I’m so glad you are joining on this! I love the R.I.P. reading challenge. Hope you have tons of fun.
