On TV…
So I started watching Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar and didn’t even get 1/2 hour into it before I gave up. It was ridiculous and corny and I couldn’t take it anymore. But don’t not watch it because of what I thought, many people liked it and thought it was hilarious. Just not my kind of funny

I also watched When We Last Spoke (2019) with Melissa Gilbert, Corbin Bernsen, & Cloris Leachman, and I loved every second of it! It had all the feels

A Favorite Bible Verse…
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 100:4-5

  1. I take it that the enormous bird is in a zoo, but you didn’t mention where you saw it. Neat!

    be safe… mae at maefood.blogspot.com

    • The Ostrich was at Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, Florida near West Palm Beach. Everything was closed at the time except for the drive through safari.

  2. It’s freezing here, but I prefer it to being muggy!

Wishing you a great reading week

  3. The Oldest Student reminded me that it is never too late to learn something new. Such an uplifting story.

I have been thinking about Humankind for some time now, and when I saw that you were reading it, I decided to hit the buy button. There’s still so much negativity…I need to push out of it, and one small step at a time sounds like a great way to do that.

What a big bird! An ostrich? Or an emu? And are those the same thing? I’m not sure at all!

  4. It’s been hot and muggy here, too. I’m trying to walk just after sunrise every day and have found a route that is mostly shaded (at least in the very earl morning)… I’m slowly adjusting.

Humankind sounds like a good read. I’ll need to look into that one.

Is that an ostrich? I know there is at least one emu farm near Ocala… guess it could be one of those, too. Either way, very cool shot!

    • When I was going on our biking trails every chance I got I loved the ones that had a lot of shade. The humidity is unbearable!

I plan on starting Humankind soon.

      Thanks, it’s an Ostrich.

  5. Oh my just look at the Emu (?) at least I think that’s what it is. from the annoying Liberty Mutual commercials.

  6. I don’t think I’d like that Barb and Star movie either. I don’t get many modern movies, to be honest. My wife and I are watching some Buster Keaton movies. That’s more our speed. 🙂

  7. The photo brings back a childhood memory of when I was with an aunt, uncle, and cousin. We went through a wildlife safari and my cousin had her window down. An ostrich stuck his head in and tried to bite her. That was an experience for her!

  8. Wow, that is one huge ostrich!

  9. It’s pretty hot and muggy today here too. Yuck! I’m staying inside 🙂

When We Last Spoke sounds good. I’ll have to look for that. Great cast.

Hope you have a great week!

  10. I am afraid to ask why you have a photograph of an ostrich on your camera!

    • I went to Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, Florida near West Palm Beach a while back and took photos of all the animals. It was such a fun day.

  11. The Brad Aronson book you are reading sounds interesting! Hope you are having a great weekend. And, we out temps are pretty high around here in Texas too. I’m already over summer! haha…

  12. My, my. What a big bird. Seeing it next to a car makes one aware of how huge ostriches really are. I enjoyed THE OLDEST STUDENT. Can you imagine learning to read so late in life? My Sunday Salon post is mostly about animals.

  13. Hot and muggy up north too. I’m trying not to complain, lol.
What channel/streaming service did you watch When We Last Spoke? Sounds like a movie I’d enjoy!

  14. The Ostrich is something else! Gosh Melissa Gilbert! It’s been awhile since I’ve seen her … I still remember Little House on the Prairie … Hope you have a great week.

  15. When We Last Spoke sounds like something my wife and I might like. With all this streaming stuff, it is hard to find things. That sound odd doesn’t it.

  16. Love the ostrich pic with no explanation, lol. Seriously, I had a few fun stories going on in my head until I read the comments. Fun!

  17. Oh my! That is a big ostrich! My best friend and I did a drive-through safari one time. You could buy a bucket of feed so they’d come to your car. My friend recorded a zebra stealing the entire bucket out of my hands! I must have felt like a toddler in the moment because I just cried, “The zebra stole my bowl!” in the strongest Southern accent I’ve had in years! 😀

    Enjoy your week!

  18. I saw you answered Mae about the locatioon of the ostrich….I have been to Lion Country safari! But it was about 40 years ago. I was able to touch a giraffe. Vacations are fun and it’s great to get back home again too.
Hot and muggy here as well.

  19. Barb and Star keep coming up in my suggestions but it looks dumb as heck to me.
