Outside…
Today is only supposed to get up to 86°, but that’s because there’s an 72% chance of thunderstorms 🙁

  1. In summertime here, it’s either cool and rainy or hot and clear. What is best?

Before the Kids and Mortgage sounds great. I will be eager to hear what you think of it.

We are still thinking about where we want to go for a little vacation. My husband wants to do some rock hunting and I can’t wait to visit a new bookstore.

    • I don’t like summers here much as it’s so hot and humid. We do have a rainy season and I’m not a big fan of that either. To me, I like it when it’s cooler without daily rains, but between the two you mentioned I’d choose cool and rainy but usually when it rains here it’s hot and muggy. I just like fall the most.

My mom collected small rocks. Every trip they made across the U.S., Canada, and even Hawaii, they would stop in each state etc. and she’d find a rock to bring back home. I do that too, and I also collect shells from the beaches I go to. And who doesn’t love a bookstore 🙂

  2. Have a great vacation, Vicki!

  3. Our Memorial Day plans were rained out and so the family will gather today with lovely sunny, high 70s temps. I hope your vacation is wonderful.

  4. It’s going to be in the 90s here today. I don’t like heat, so I’m not amused. I’ll happily stay inside and blog all day. Have a great week!

  5. Have a fabulous time on your vacation!

  6. Now I am jealous for 2 reasons: you got to see the Friends reunion (we don’t have HBO) and you have a vacation planned. I can’t wait to see where you’re going and how it was!

    • I’m going to watch the Friends Reunion on Plex. It took a while to figure out where to go for a vacation but finally decided I wanted to stay close to home and not travel too far away. And it’s somewhere I’ve been wanting to go for a few years. I’m going to take a lot of photos 🙂

  7. A vacation? How exciting. I hope you have a great time.

I saw the Friends reunion and enjoyed it.

I hope you have a great week!

    • I’m so excited about going on vacation. Not far from home but still somewhere I want to go.

I’m excited to se the Friends Reunion, I’ll probably watch it tonight or maybe in a few days.

Thanks Yvonne, I hope you have a great week too!

  8. I bet you’re ready to go. Have a great vacation!!!!!

  9. Crockpot chicken and gravy souds good. I don’t even care that it’s unbearably hot outside, that’s a tasty meal!
    Have a wonderful vacation ;-0

    • I’ve always used my oven etc. all year round, even when it’s in the high 90’s outside. Doesn’t really change the temp. inside, I guess our air conditioner vents are in the right spots.

We aren’t leaving until the 21st, but I’m very excited!

  10. While the 86 degrees sounds nice and I love a good thunderstorm, together they don’t make a great combination. Yay for going on vacation! I hope you have a wonderful time. I look forward to seeing the pictures. I am not sure if we will be taking one this summer. 🙁 I hope you have a great week, Vicki!

    • Thank you Wendy, I’m excited! We aren’t going very far from home but after the last 1 1/2 we, like everyone, are way overdue for a vacation. Luckily I can take time off from work whenever I want.

I hope you have a great week too!

  11. I hope you have a wonderful vacation and enjoy every minute!

  12. Love the photo of the clouds. We just got back from Lake Tahoe and I spent my days admiring the clouds over the lovely blue lake! My Sunday Salon post

  13. Oh c’mon, tell us where you are going!!
I love the “from the camera photo’
    Take care!!

  14. Love the clouds photo! I feel like it rained all week here so today was our first day of actual sun. The humidity is crazy but at least there’s sun! Enjoy your vacation! Definitely deserved and I can’t wait to hear all about it. You asked on my recipe post if we have Texas Roadhouse and we do! There’s actually one really close and I could live off their rolls alone but their takeout isn’t as efficient as Longhorn and Will prefers that so that’s where we normally pick up from. And now I want a basket of rolls! I hope you have a wonderful week!

    • I took my daughter out to eat for her birthday and we were going to go to Longhorn but they didn’t open until 3pm and we were starving so we went to Carrabba’s instead. I like Longhorn and there are a few other steak restaurants in my area that I like also, but Texas Roadhouse is my favorite.

  15. I need to watch the Friends reunion too! I’ve been putting it off because I know I’m going to cry and get super emotional. That is one of my favorite all-time shows.

    • My granddaughter in law and her sister are huge fans of Friends. So much so that to let the family know she was expecting, she gathered us together without saying why, and then walked in with a t-shirt that said “The One Where She’s Pregnant”.

  16. 110 here today. Ugh!

I can’t wait to see your vacation pics.

Food. I need to do some meal planning. It’s just too hard with the gluten free AND no meat restriction. And now my son is back so he is definitely a big meat eater. Challenging.

    • It’s only 94° here but that’s because it’s been storming/raining here since about 4:30 this morning. I’m loving the cooler weather though 🙂

I’ve been cooking for 48 years so I’m sick of figuring out what to cook and then cooking it, doing the dishes etc. I’ve had a break as far as going to the store to get the groceries since Covid, but the rest of it is still not fun. I’m a big meat eater too.
