  1. We’re having a splendid weather today and the temperatures are almost warm ! Yay for spring ! Finally ! How is the meditation going ? As long as I’m to remain home, I thought I might add some to my morning routine, if nobody disturbs me… Have a great week 🙂

    • I haven’t started The 30 Day Mindfulness Challenge book yet, I’m going to start it April 1st. I wake up earlier than anybody so I won’t have a problem with anyone bothering me 🙂

  2. It was up to 80 here yesterday, but a cool front has come in during the night and it’s much less hot. I enjoy every day I can get that isn’t the 90s of our long summer.

I wonder where you are thinking about going next weekend. It’s lovely to think about going somewhere that is nonessential. I can’t tell you how much pleasure I got out of my first visit to a bookstore in a year.

I hope you have a lovely week, Vicki.

    • Our summers are so hot due to humidity that I dread it every year. Going outside is like walking into an oven.

I’d like to go to the beach. I know of a few that never have more than a handful of people, but since everyone feels cooped up the beaches may be more crowded than usual. I’m not comfortable with a bunch of people yet, and there’s a chance I never will be again 🙁

  3. I hope you find a special place to venture to next weekend. I’m looking forward to a fancy dinner out the beginning of May for the first time since 2/2020. Hope your week is a good one. The photo is so interesting.

    • Like I told Deb, I really want to go to the beach. But we’ve also been talking about going to our favorite Chinese restaurant. It’s been so long since we’ve been there.

  4. I love your verse of the day!!

  5. I’m envious of your warm weather! We’re still in the upper 40s/lower 50s. We did have sunshine yesterday, so I spent several hours in the yard doing some spring clean-up. Today the rain returns, which is probably a good thing since I’m sore from all the yardwork! Have a good week, Vicki!

    • That’s a little to chilly for me, I think my favorite temp. is in the low 60’s. I’m still trying to figure out what I want to plant in the front of the house and how I want to do to the backyard. I’ve already put up a few bird feeders and bird baths, but I need to decide which patio furniture, gazebo, and fire pit I want.

I hope you have a good week too!

  6. I read a lot of Dean Koontz but haven’t for quite some time, I’ll be interested to see what you think of The Other Emily.

Wishing you a great reading week

    • This is my first Koontz book and I’ve about made my mind up it will be a DNF for me. The narrator has a nice voice, but he keeps taking a big intake of air every few sentences and it’s getting on my nerves. I may switch over to the Kindle book or listen to another one of his books soon.

  7. Love, Clancy was a great read.

  8. We are heading into Autumn here in the Southern Hemisphere. Mixed feelings about that!

Love, Clancy has a sweet ring to it. I hope it was.

    Have a good week!

    Elza Reads

  9. With my vaccine coming up this week I am starting to think I can actually go somewhere and see people soon! Have a wonderful week.

  10. Isn’t there another Whistle Stop book by Fannie Flagg too? I’m in Michigan (where it’s a balmy 49 degrees today), but my parents are currently in Florida saying these 90 degree days are too much and they may head north again soon. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your week!

    • The only two Whistle Stop books are the two I mentioned in this post. I agree with your parents, I think the Florida weather in the summer is way too hot when you factor in the humidity. Like an oven! Have a great week!

  11. Getting hot over there! Curious what you’ll think about the new Koontz book. It’s been a long time since I’ve read anything by him. Hope you have a great week ahead.

    • Well, I started the Koontz book and didn’t get very far before I had to add it to my DNF list. The narrator kept taking deep breaths that got on my nerves very quickly. I listened as long as I could 🙁

  12. We aren’t quite up to 89 here but I am enjoying the warm weather! I love the idea of the 30 days of mindfulness. I need to give that a look. I’d like to add a mediation or mindfulness element to my yoga. Have a great week!

    • In Florida it’s bad enough that the temps. are so high, but when the humidity is way up it makes it unbearable. That’s why we pay more attention to the “feels like” temp. I don’t do yoga but love Qigong and Tai Chi.

  13. Sounds like it’s even warmer where you are than it is here! Humidity is creeping up, but a nice sea breeze is keeping it comfortable. (We did turn the air on for the first time this year yesterday afternoon though.) Have fun deciding where to visit next weekend… so many fun possibilities. Can’t wait to get my second shot. By the end of April we’ll be good to go, too!

  14. It’s been warm here and one day last week reached 83 degrees. I like when we can eat meals outside and that’s the weather for it. We are going to go out to a restaurant after ourt our second vaccine dose and that’s in a week. Doug has eye surgery tomorrow and we will just see what the rest of the week brings us!

By the way, I like your new layout on the blog.

    • I like eating outside too! I hope Doug’s eye surgery goes well, keep me updated please. My mom had eye surgery and it went perfect. Had to wear really dark sunglasses for a bit but that was it. She could see so much better!

Thanks for saying you like my new blog layout, but it was quite by accident. I upgraded a few things and for some reason it changed it to a different look, which I was not happy about. I tried to get the old look back but it wouldn’t cooperate. It took me a few days to get it where I was semi happy with the layout, typography, sidebar etc. and I still haven’t gotten the sidebar exactly as I want it, but I’ve given up for now. I guess if I ever decide to upgrade it again I’ll have to triple check that the current look is backed up.

  15. We had some nasty storms at the end of last week that lingered through the weekend but today is beautiful, though I wish it was a bit warmer. Next weekend I’m just going to my parents’ house for Easter dinner. We didn’t get together last year but we were able to successfully social distance for Thanksgiving and Christmas and now they are fully vaccinated so we are going to do dinner together this year.

  16. Not sure about the humidity but our weather temps are close to yours. 90 degrees yesterday, 87 today. REALLY pretty out. The pup did not want to head home from our walk today. She just kept sniffing and walking in the other direction.

  17. We are eagerly awaiting an address from an Taoiseach (the PM) this evening about an easing of a few restrictions starting in a couple weeks. It’s expected that they will extend the 5km limit. That would allow us to go on day trips again! Yay! There’s a wee village a few kilometres up the road that we’ve been wanting to spend an afternoon in. We’ve not been able to see much beyond the immediate area here, because a few weeks after we moved in here, we were in lockdown. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your day trip, wherever you decide to go 🙂

    • Don’t you just love day trips? My daughter and I have been going on day trips for years, and to the beach, we love it! Sometimes my son and I will go too.

I think we’ve narrowed our trip to looking for a new bike and to my favorite Chinese restaurant that we haven’t been to in such a long time. Restrictions are lightening up here to, but it still depends on how they are social distancing and how many people they let in at a time.

I hope you get to go on your day trip!

  18. Love that pic! And I hope you enjoy your time away from hope. This past year has made me appreciate every road trip I’ve ever taken in a new way!

    • I love the picture too! Rarely see a flower growing out of a rock!

I agree with you about road trips, I’ve been going on them since I was a teenager. I never get tired of them. I’ve gone on a few with my daughter and some with my youngest son since Covid hit but we rarely get out of the car unless there are only a few people there. I can’t wait for life to get back to normal.

I hope you and your family have a great week!
