New To Me Stuff:
Since I was a little kid, Lucky Charms has been my favorite cereal. I saw Lucky Charms Frosted Flakes Marshmallow and I thought I’d buy a box to see if I liked them. They weren’t as good as the original Lucky Charms. The taste was off and the frosted flakes instead of  oat cereal pieces felt weird. I’ll be sticking with the original Lucky Charms

Today’s To Do List…
Work, then maybe go for a ride to let my doggy try out her new car booster seat, read, tv

Looking forward to…
Having next weekend off

  1. Fried Green Tomatoes, both the book and movie, are really good! Enjoy your warm temperatures, we’re down in the 60s now, but at least its sunny for the next week.

  2. What a cute and sweet great-grandbaby, Vicki! thanks for sharing her with us!

  3. I was just wondering which Backman book to try next and you’ve listed one here I’ve never heard of… need to investigate! You’re going to be eating well this week. Think I’ll add tacos to our meal plan. It’s been a while since we had them. Your great granddaughter is adorable!!

    • I’m trying to catch up on Backman’s books now that I’m feeling like reading again. 2020 wasn’t a great year for me where books were concerned but so far this year I’ve been doing good.

Things My Son Needs To Know About The World is very good so far.

  4. OMG that baby is so cute!!!! Look at her!

I love Fannie Flagg!!! I need to figure out what books of hers I’ve read and what ones I haven’t. Pretty sure I do NOT know Wonder Boy. How is it?

Printed out the chili recipe. Thanks for that. I don’t want to go grocery shopping today so I’m scrounging around in the pantry seeing what I can cobble together. Chili is perfect!

    • Thank you, we think Jensen is the cutest!

This was my first Fannie Flagg book but I love it so much I immediately got the audio of Wonder Boy. I’m just starting it so I can’t say much about it yet.

I’ve been wanting chili and thought I’d try a new recipe. It sounds good so I’ll give it a try. I hope you like it!

  5. Jensen is such a beauty! What joy she brings to your life.

Chili is our winter go-to meal. It’s about time to make a pot soon. We like ours with beans.

Lucky Charms was my favorite cereal when I was a kid, too. I haven’t had any Lucky Charms in at least forty years, though. Glad to know it’s still out there.

    • Jensen definitely does bring joy to our lives, and btw, her middle name is Joy 🙂

We eat chili all year round and I’ve been craving it.

I don’t eat Lucky Charms very often but sometimes I’ve I’m not really hunger for supper I’ll get a bowl.

  6. What a great picture of Jensen! So cute!

  7. Your great granddaughter is precious – getting so big too. You had a good reading month Vicki, hope February is good as well.

    • Thanks, I love her so much, and yes, she is getting big. She’s sitting up by herself now. I’m finally out of the reading slump I was in for so long.

  8. A wonderful image of your great granddaughter. Lucky Charms, I never had them but do recall my sisters loving them. A blast from the past, my favorite was Cheerios, the original not the 100s of flavors they have now. 🙂

    • Thanks Bill! Lucky Charms are so good! I like Cheerios with cut up banana in them. I’m not a fan of all the different flavors either. I also like Honey Bunches of Oats
      With Almonds.

  9. Jensen is a little sweetie!!

  10. Our Bible Study group (Zoom) is studying 1 Thess. right now so I was so pleased to see your liMy Sunday Salon postttle cross picture to “Pray without ceasing”.

  11. OMG, what a cutie!!!!! It’s cold and snowy here, so I’m thinking chili would be a great dinner tonight.

    • Thanks so much, we think she’s a cutie too 🙂

It’s been colder than usual here with frost on the car windows quite a few mornings. We like chili all year long but especially when it’s cold outside.

  12. What a darling baby! Hope you have a great week ahead of you!

  13. Jensen. What a doll. Too sweet.

All your cooking sounds good. I am navigating vegetarian meals now and kind of getting bored. I know you can really jazz stuff up but I don’t like to buy a lot of fancy ingredients when I cook so I try to stick to basic meals but then the other half of my fam gets bored. I always have to add meat for my husband, for sure anyway. I have no idea what to make for Super Bowl. I am not all that jazzed about who is playing but snacky food is a must regardless.

    • It’s been so cold in Florida that I’m wanting “warm me up food”.

I’ve never been a fan of football. My brother in law used to take us kids to see the Cincinnati Reds play so I was a big fan and watched them play one tv when we weren’t at the games.
