I did early voting and am looking forward to seeing who wins

Today’s To Do List…
Working until about 11:30 and then going to find a new mattress for my bed. I’ve had my memory foam for under 2 years but my back has recently started getting a twitch when I get off work and stop moving around so much, I’m hoping a firmer mattress will help

Looking forward to…
Going on a mini vaca for a few days

A Favorite Bible Verse…
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8

From the camera…

Sandhill cranes are a common site in the area I live

They walk very slowly and you have to sit and wait for them
to cross the road before you can start driving again, but I don’t mind

They used to come into the yard a lot where I used to live

  1. Enjoy the mini-vacation! hope the mattress helps.

    • Still in the planning stages of figuring out what to do on the vacation, but I took week off. We may go someplace or just do a few day trips to places we’ve always wanted to check out.

I’m hoping the mattress helps too 🙂

  2. Good luck mattress shopping, Vicki.
We have sandhill cranes in my area (WI) in the spring/summer. They get a bit loud sometimes but are nice to look at 😀

  3. I think a firmer mattress will help, Vicki. Our memory foam still needs to be rotated now and then.
Love the Sandhill cranes, wish they were in my yard.
I also voted early and look forward to a better 2021 upcoming.

  4. Those Sand Hill Cranes are so cool! I hope your back gets better Vicki.

  5. Having those long legged cranes walking around the neighborhood seems strange to me but you are probably used to it. 🙂

  6. I’ve voted, too, and there’s not much else I can do except wait.

Animals at the Office looks like great fun.

I think I will try the Spinach Tomato Tortellini Soup. I believe I have all the ingredients right here.

We don’t have sandhill cranes, but we have lots of giant egrets, which look similar.

I love your Bible verse this week. Love. That’s the heart of it all.

    • The day is finally here, I’m hoping everything goes more smoothly than everyone thinks it will.

We have Cattle Egrets here too. You see them mostly sitting on the back of cows.

  7. Those cranes are so large. I’ve seen cranes on vacations in Florida that walk right up to the backyard property. The spinach tomato tortellini soup sounds really good.

    • We had cranes in our yard almost everyday where I used to live. Now I live in town and have egrets in the yard. There were 3 yesterday when I got home.

  8. I recently got a new really first mattress and it makes me so happy! Good luck finding one you like, it’s such a strange process. And your tomoato tortelini soup looks good!

    • Something came up and I didn’t make it to the mattress store Sunday, but I’m going this afternoon.Excited to get a new one but not so excited to have to figure out which one to get.

  9. I always get hungry when I visit your post. 🙂 I had no idea cranes cross the street in the city. I would have thought they would get spooked by the cars!

    • I first saw them when I moved out in the country but when we moved to town I saw them there too which did surprise me. We also have chickens that roam around our neighborhood.

  10. Great picture of the cranes. I hope you have a great mini-vaca! I did early voting too.

    Have a great week!

  11. Pizza stones. I have one from Pampered Chef but it always leaves my crust or whatever I cook on it soggy. It’s weird. Like it’s too porous or something. The Pampered Chef rep even replaced it thinking it was defective in some way. But nope.

  12. I voted early, too, and will be glad when all the votes are counted! We don’t see sandhill cranes around here often, but it’s a treat when we do. Your menu this week looks good to me 🙂 Have a good week!

    • I will be glad when the winner is announced too! The last few days have been cooler here and I’m enjoying it so much! I don’t do well with the high humidity.

  13. Hope you found a mattress that you like. It makes all the difference for getting a good night’s sleep. That soup sounds good.

  14. Those Sandhill Cranes are beautiful! The Spinach Tomato Tortellini Soup sounds so good–I’ve printed out the recipe! I hope you find a mattress that will be comfortable and supportive. I’m still getting used to my new(ish) mattress (from CostCo).

    Have a good week, Vicki!

    • When I came home yesterday there were 3 egrets in my yard. I took a photo and may share it on my next Sunday Salon post.

The place we went to get a mattress didn’t have what I wanted so we’re going to a nearby town Saturday to find one.

  15. How wonderful to see Sandhill Cranes in your area. I always meant to get out and see them on the Platte River (NE) during their fall migration, but never did! Apparently 400,000 to 600,000 gather there every year. A photographer’s dream!
