Thoughts
I love soup and vegetables so I knew I’d love this. My son doesn’t like soup or vegetables but he said he’d try it. And he shocked me when he went back to get more! That’s why the bowl is so messy. He said it was really good.
This is so cheap, easy and quick to put together that I’ll definitely be making it again, especially since Anthony liked it so much.
This looks delicious. I have to try it.
It was really good!
Got to love a recipe that the kids will eat!
Well, my kid isn’t technically a “kid”, but he loved it!
Seriously, how interesting that the recipe is made from so many canned foods. Growing up, we lived in an area that didn’t have any markets nearby- we did have eggs, milk, and meat delivered. Once a month my parents went to a supermarket and loaded up on canned vegetables, beans, canned fruit, tuna, etc. I forgot how much we used to depend on canned food for our ingredients.
I actually like frozen vegetables, but this recipe sounded so good that I wanted to try it, and it was really good!
This sounds like a good one when you have to rely on your pantry and freezer.
I agree!
I make a lot of soup but the base is always from my freezer. I freeze all the vegetable leftovers and also the ends I find in the fridge and the peelings.
Bones also go into the freezer.
My husband is gluten free and canned soups sometimes contain wheat. We also find them too salty.
I put ham bones in the freezer to make a pot of beans, makes it so good!
This would be perfect for our Cook the Books pick – Recipe for a Perfect Wife! So 50t’s with all the cans. But also great for an easy, yet yummy slow cooked meal.
I LOVED that book!
Yum! When we moved I decided not to bring my Slow Cooker and I MISS it! We are going home to pick some stuff up at some point and I might have to grab it. It’s perfect for yummy soup recipes and this one sounds good.
I’ve had a slow cooker (on my 5th or so one now) for years! It’s always been my favorite kitchen appliance. I use it often and can’t imagine not having one. I love being able to just dump stuff in and walk away!
Haha. I was like, where is the beef? Then, I saw your note.
My fave soups are Chicken Tortilla and the one from Olive Garden, Zuppa Toscana something with the sausage, kale and potatoes. Lots of copycat recipes for it and all good.
I could eat soup all year long. My family, not so much.
I eat soup, stews, and chili all year long! I don’t care how hot and humid it is outside, I have a/c 🙂
