Laugh Out Loud: 40 Women Humorists Celebrate Then and Now…Before We Forget by Allia Zobel Nolan

Listening To…
The Friendship List by Susan Mallery

Books Reviewed Last Week…
None, I’m so behind on reviews 🙁  but coming up this week is my review of Floating Twigs by Charles Tabb which I LOVED! I stayed up until 4:00 this morning listening to it because every time I’d turn it off and try to go to sleep, I couldn’t stop thinking about it & finally finished it, it will definitely be in my top favorite books

Today I’m going to re-watch Harry Potter and the Socerer’s Stone for Food N’ Flix, hosted by Tina @ Squirrel Head Manor

In The Kitchen…
Chicken Burrito Skillet
2 Ingredient Cherry Chocolate Cake
Slow Cooker Chicken & Dumplings
The Perfect Meatloaf
Tortellini Soup

New To Me Stuff:
We tried the new Jalapeño Popper Rolls  @ Pappa John’s yesterday, we were not a fan.

Ok, so I’ve already said many times that I have a huge addiction to small kitchen appliances. It seems it may be getting worse (I’m blaming it on having to stay home unless necessary). In the last week I’ve acquired an Instant Pot Aura Pro 11-in-1 Multicooker Slow Cooker, 8 Qt  and a Cuisinart DCB-10 Automatic Cold Brew Coffeemaker

Today’s To Do List…
Two loads of laundry, reading, tv

A Favorite Bible Verse…
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time
1 Timothy 2:5-6 KJV

From the camera…

Saw this while walking on the boardwalk at Lake Harris

Since I have so much love for this place, it seemed like a perfect find

  1. A love leaf, a very nice find.

  2. Nice leaf! The book you’re reading sounds great!

  3. I’m looking forward to your review of Floating Twigs given your enthusiasm

Wishing you a great reading week

  4. Don’t you just love when you can’t get a book out of your mind and it keeps you reading through the night? Those are the best kind. I’m looking forward to your review. Have a great Sunday!

  5. I just added Floating Twigs to my wish list on Audible after reading your raving comments on it. I just had to see what that 2 ingredient chocolate cake was about and I think I’ll make it soon. It looks yummy!

By the way, I bought an Instant Pot two years ago and I LOVE using it. I love the book of 1 Timothy chapter 2. Enjoy your week!

    • I hope you love Floating Twigs as much as I did! I bought the ingredients for the cake but haven’t made it yet. I’m adding the frosting and maraschino cherries. Have a great week!

  6. It’s so funny what we’ve all stared buying now that we’re home bound. For me, it’s books. My TBR shelves are overflowing and I can’t seem to stop myself.

    • Me buying small kitchen appliances has been going on for years, and I mean years! I buy them one after another sometimes and other times I buy them more spread out. Depends on when I see something I want.

  7. I love the vibrant green leaf! I think a cold brew coffee maker is essential 😀

  8. Happy Sunday, Vicki!
I was intrigued by the 2 Ingredient Cherry Chocolate Cake, and also found a great-sounding recipe for Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies! (I may try the cookie recipe, but use coconut sugar or a different sweetener instead of regular sugar.) Your leaf photo is perfect. I hope you enjoy your new appliances. Enjoy the week ahead!

    • I used to make chocolate chip cookies all the time for my kids when they were growing up but have never made PB cookies that I can remember. I love that leaf! I’ll be trying those new appliances out later this week. I hope you enjoy your week too!

  9. I am always happiest when I am deep into a good book. I love the sort that you can’t stop reading.

I like the idea of Food ‘n Flix. We generally do a movie night on Sunday evenings with my sister and her husband, but my sister is helping her daughter for a few months as she tries to finish out a difficult pregnancy. I will look into Food ‘n Flix.

I’m toying with an idea to start a new Wednesday meme. Your beautiful photo of the green heart plant would be perfect for it.

    • I’m sorry to hear about your niece having a difficult pregnancy! I’ll keep her in my prayers. I’ll be waiting to see if you post about a new meme. I’ll definitely join in!

  10. I really love chicken and dumplings but ever since I can no longer find the gluten free Bisquick, I have not made it. Other GF biscuit mixes turn out like doorstops. Of course, it’s also 103 degrees here so it’s not quite Crockpot time yet for us.

  11. I haven’t stayed up that late reading a book in forever! Love it when a story captures your attention so much you just can’t let it go. Let us know what you think of your cold brew maker! Hope you are having a great week.
