  1. Thanks for mentioning the bird feeder – I’ve got my hummingbird feeders on the counter and need to make more simple syrup to fill them! That beach picture is so pretty!! The beaches near us are little inland lakes, but my kids are still begging to go play 🙂 Thanks for sharing and enjoy your week!

    • I’ve always wanted to have a bird feeder but I lived out in the country for 20 years and there was a huge owl (a baby when we moved there) who stayed in one of our trees. I was afraid it would get the birds.

The beach photo was taken on my vacation to Mexico last November. Our beaches in Florida are beautiful, but the the water in Mexico is amazing. I couldn’t stop staring at it 🙂

Thanks, I hope you enjoy your week too!

  2. I’m sorry you are missing the beach,, though it’s definitely safer to stay away right now if crowds are present.

Wishing you a great reading week, stay well x

    • I haven’t even checked to see how crowded the beaches are, but the closest one to me is usually not crowded at all so I may check it out soon, just not now. I’m not a very patient person but I will wait until I feel better about going.

      Thanks, you stay well too!

  3. Hi Vicki. You’ll have to let me know how Oceans is. I a\love anything about the ocean and beachs too. Love your beach photo, looks like it’s from the SW side. Thanks so much for stopping by my Sunday 6 today. Stay safe and have a great week! 🙂

    • I’ll be posting my thoughts on Oceans next Sunday. The beach photo was actually taken in Mexico last November. The water there is amazing!

I hope you stay safe too and have a great week!

  4. Crockpot chicken fajitas sound good. I may give that a try.

    Have a great week!

  5. Beaches are the best, I love them!

    • I used to live across the road from the beach in Montery, California and loved every single minute I lived there. I miss being that close to a beach 🙁

  6. We have been missing fajitas. Maybe we will try to get some fajita meat next time we put in a grocery store order. Your Crockpot Chicken Fajitas sound good.

The Unhoneymooners would make a good movie, I think. I hope you enjoy it.

I feel like I spent most of my day sitting at the bar at my house, watching the birds at the feeder and in the bird bath. I don’t know what I would be doing had I not had the birds to watch.

    • I love watching the birds eating their bird seed and in the birdbath. I plan on getting a second birdbath soon, and maybe a single feeder to put on the side of the house.

  7. I put a bird feeder up a few weeks ago. Now that we spend time on our deck, it is such a pleasure to see all the birds. Our favorite ice cream is the Publix brand premium ice cream flavors. We haven’t found anything better. Bear Claws is a favorite.

  8. Buying a dessert and having it taste like nothing sounds super disappointing right now, especially since we don’t get to go out and do much exciting stuff. Hope the birth goes well!

  9. It’s too cold for sticking your feet in the water at the beach now, but I do still like to sit in the car and watch the waves during winter!

    • I live in Florida so the water is nice most of the year. We do get a few cold days in the winter though. I like sitting and watching the waves and listening to them also.

  10. The crockpot chicken fajitas have me drooling. I need to steal that recipe from you.

Yes to the birdfeeder! I cntastly watch the birds here and am going through quite a bit of seed. We ahve some lovely ones, like the Towhee and an occassional grosbeak come by.

Bummer about the ice cream. That is such a disappointment. Now I want ice cream.

  11. Won’t be long now until baby comes!

  12. I love the ocean as well, so calming. Have a great week Vicki.

  13. Six days! So exciting!!

  14. Oh you killed me with the ice cream. I was expecting you to say how good it was and blah. Same has happened to me with various foods including ice cream.

We have netflix, I might have to check out the documentary.

Kudos to your son on replacing the disposal. That is hard work. Of course, unlike me, he probably knows what he is doing.

  15. Vicki,

Your sparkling beach photo is especially tantalizing! Beach walks are the best walks. Oceans sounds like a terrific documentary.

    Homemade pizza? Yes, please!

Have a wonderful week ahead. 🙂

    • The beach is where I can wash all the stress away. I love looking at the water and waves and listening to it too.

Stay safe, have a great week!

  16. That beach pic is everything. The color of the water is so inviting. I hope you can go soon.

How can pineapple ice cream have no flavor??

I still have a couple hours to my work day but I am contemplating what we will eat on July 4th because it’s somewhat more interesting. However, I think I have mentioned to most who will listen that I am so sick of cooking and planning stuff to cook. Sick sick sick. Would rather not eat but then there’s the hub and one kid. They would frown.

    • You’d think orange and pineapple ice cream would have a lot of flavor but no, it didn’t taste like anything

I don’t like cooking as much as I used to. I’ve been cooking since 1975 for my family and I cooked for my husband’s grandmother for 10 of those years and my parents for 2 yrs.

  17. Looks like you had a good week. I think I’ll make homemade pizza this weekend.

  18. Baby countdown is exciting! By now the baby might be here! I’d love to be at a beach this weekend …. but since I moved away from California … I’m no longer near a beach. Perhaps that’s safer now. Enjoy the new baby.

    • No baby yet 🙁 but should be here soon! If she’s not here by Wednesday they are going to the dr. on Wednesday to make an appointment for an induction. We’re all so excited so see our baby girl!

I lived in Monterey, California by the beach. I LOVED living there. At night if I left the living room window open I could hear the waves. Have always wanted to move back there but my family is here.
