  1. Oh, that picture of Jaspurr is so adorable! We gave our cats catnip for the first time in years and they’ve had a crazy day, lol.
I’m sorry about your brother in law. Did you manage to see any snow when you were here?

    • Thanks Stacy! In November when I went to my sister and brother in law’s (same bil that passed) I saw a little on my nephew’s balcony and even made a small snowball. This time it didn’t start snowing until about an hour after we left. How Rude!!

Jaspurr is always entertaining me. I’ve never given either of my cats catnip.

  2. You had a busy week. I’m sure it was a difficult one.

Soup of one sort or another is my go-to meal at this time of the year. I’ve learned how to make bread bowls for the soup, too, so that’s fun as well.

I miss having a cat. I love my bird, but it is not the same as having my cat.

    Have a lovely week!

    • Yes, it was very difficult.

I love soup and stew all year round. It’s a comfort food to me.

I’ve always been a dog person but my son has always been a cat person so we’ve always had both. Jaspurr was found when she and her siblings were abandoned where my son works. He brought her home so we could bottle feed her until she was weened. By then she was mine and I couldn’t giver her up. Our older cat and her get along ok, but sometimes they hiss at each other.

My kids and I each had a bird when they were growing up and I’ve been thinking about getting another one.

  3. Jaspurr looks comfortable, if a little awkward.
My condolences on the loss of your brother in law

Wishing you a great reading week

    • Jaspurr is always sitting/laying in weird positions. She must like being “different” 🙂

Thanks, it was hard. All three of my sisters were older than me and my brother, so I’ve known Eddy since I about 8. He was more like a brother to me.

  4. Jasper’s adorable!

So sorry to hear of your BIL’s passing. I hope next week is better for you.

  5. I’m glad A Million Little Things is back on, too. It’s a show where I find almost every character to be annoying but yet I have to see what happens next.

Ha ha silly Jasper! So cute.

  6. Sorry to hear about your BIL’s passing, it must be tough. My mother used to have an Africa Gray parrot and he was something else. He was about 15 yrs old when she got him and she had him for about 25 yrs. Noisy, screaming and as my mother used to say, “he’s mocking me.” 🙂 At night she used to cover his cage with an old towel (she got lots of them at a goodwill store) and he would poke holes in them, stick his head out and yell. Crazy, I know, but she adored the creature. 🙂
    Have a wonderful week, Vicki.

    • My three kids, my grandmother in law, and I all used to have birds when the kids were growing up, and yes they can be pretty vocal. I used to cover their cages up at night and that made them be quiet and go to sleep. I’ve never heard of a bird tearing holes in them. That’s funny, but I bet it wouldn’t be if I was the one dealing with it.

  7. Vicki,
I am so sorry about Eddy.
The photo of Jaspurr is adorable. A Million Little Things sounds so good! I will keep it in mind. Have a nice Sunday with your son.

    • Thanks Susan! Eddy was a very special person to everyone who knew him. I hope you’ll give A Million Little Things a try, but you should watch starting from the beginning for it to make sense.

  8. I’m so sorry to hear about your BIL.
Your kitty is adorable. I hope you have a good day with your son and hopefully a good week ahead!

  9. Haha, look at the kitty jammed in there. Mmm, homemade pizza. I have some of that in the refrigerator right now. I hope you have a great week!

    • Jaspurr usually lays on the top of my computer desk or on one of the shelves of the cat tree, but lately she’s been crammed in that little cave.

  10. So sorry to hear about your brother in law; losing a family member is never easy. I always found that when I was sad, being with my dog helped so I hope Jasper helps you by snuggling.

    • Thanks Helen! I have a dog and another cat named Boots and yes, they do comfort me. Some people think that animals can’t tell when you’re sad but every animal I’ve ever had could.

  11. My condolences on your brother in laws death. Ohio weather must have been very different for you after Florida.

Your meal plans sound great, especially the soup. Right now I’m reading a book about John Glenn.

    • Thanks Tina, it was a shock since we had just flew to Ohio the end of Nov. When they found the cancer he was already at stage 4, and only lived another month.

I grew up in Ohio so it didn’t bother me much. I would have appreciated some heavy snow to go with the cold though.

  12. I want to eat at your house this week… and will look for that iced coffee. Haven’t seen that here, but would love to try it!

I’m very sorry to hear about your brother-in-law.

    • I almost didn’t buy the coffee but thought I better in case I was passing up something good. I’m glad I did.

Thanks, he will definitely be missed!

  13. So sorry for your loss, Vicki.

  14. I always love reading your summaries.

    Jaspurr is a little sweetie!!

  15. How cute is Jaspurr? Dang cute. My little pup wasn’t feeling well the other day. She has attacks. We call them “the gurgles” because her stomach will rumble and she won’t eat and will require extra attention. She gets it from eating little bits of human food. We don’t feed her human food but my daughter is a mess pot and leaves plates on the couch. She is better now but it always takes a day for her to recover.

    • That’s so sad! I’ve always given my dogs tiny pinches of my foods that I know are safe for them, and thankfully they’ve never had any problems from it. My older cat can eat a little from my plate too and is fine, but the youngest cat can’t. She vomits it back up in just a few minutes so I don’t give anything to her other than cat food and treats.

  16. I made homemade pizza last night. I found a recipe for 2 ingredient dough so I’m trying it out for the crust. Jaspurr is a cutie pie.
