  1. Your cat is adorable Vicki. Hope you have a relaxing day after work today.

  2. I enjoyed the movie The Bookshop…and loved The Escape Room.

Have a great week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • I plan on watching The Bookshop in a little bit. I started The Escape Room and then had to put it on hold because I got a notice that my book club read for this month is Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. I checked and it’s almost 18 1/2 hrs. and since I’m in a reading/listening slo-mo I figured I better get started on it.

  3. I have been eager to read The Lido and The Unhoneymooners. I am curious about what you thought of The Lido.

We’ve just gotten back from Utah where it was delightfully cool. However, we flew out of Las Vegas and it was 108 degrees when we were there. No breeze. Nothing but heat.

Your little buddy looks the way I feel after this trip!

    Have a great week.

    • I had The Lido on my list for a while and finally decided to get the audio since I’m doing better with them this year (again) than I am with print. I LOVED IT! Still haven’t picked up The Unhoneymooners yet. I’d love to go to Las Vegas!

  4. Lovely kitty! I love tabby cats. 🙂
The Unhoneymooners looks fun! I want to read that one at some point too. Hope you enjoy!

    • Jaspurr is always finding an interesting place to sleep. In the photo she’s on the very top of my desk that’s almost 5 ft. tall. She likes it up there because she can also look out my bedroom window.

  5. That’s a nice bible verse. I love that.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  6. Well, the kitty knows how to relax. 🙂

  7. A beautiful cat! Sounds like you are a little warmer than us, but not by much!

  8. Aww kitty!! So cute! And that temp – so hot!

I really need to get on the Instant Pot train – 10 minute salmon sounds like a miracle.

    • I thought about getting an IP for years but I’ve always loved my Crockpots so I didn’t. It was my son who talked me into getting one and when I finally agreed he ordered me one. Plus he’s bought me just about every accessory there is for them.

  9. I loved Pachinko in print – I hope it’s just as good on audio.

    • I know a narrator can make or break an audio so I listened to a sample and Allison Hiroto has a very soothing voice so I think I’ll love listening to it.

  10. We only made it to the mid 60s today – fall is in the air.

  11. Yes, thank goodness for air conditioning! It’s in the high nineties here as well. I hope you are enjoying Pachinko. I have that one on my TBR pile and have heard such good things about it. Such a cute kitty. I hope you have a wonderful week!

  12. We had an early taste of fall this weekend with temps in the 60s. It is supposed to be up in the 80s in a couple of days. Love your kitty. I miss having one around. Hope you have a great week.

  13. What an adorable kitty! I hope you have a great week!

  14. I made two meatloaf’s last night. I sliced up one which we used to make burgers, the other I’ll serve later this week with roast potato and veggies.

It’s only the first week of spring here but midweek temps reached 33c (about 92F) and we had to switch the AC on. I hope it cools down for you soon.

    Have a great reading week

  15. Happy Sunday, Vicki! The photo of your cat is very sweet. Our weather was a bit cooler today, which was nice. Have a great week ahead!

    • Jaspur is usually never very far from me, I bottle fed her from when she was only a few days old till 8 weeks and I think she thinks I’m her mom.

      Have a great week!

  16. I’ve heard good things about Pachinko. Hope it’s a good book and can distract from that horrible heat. Hurray for AC!

  17. I’m now the last person on earth who hasn’t read Pachinko! Love the kitty photo.

    • It wouldn’t have been a book I would have chosen on my own but when I got notified that it was the September pick for my book club I thought I’d give it a try. I really like it so far. Thanks, Jaspurr is a really good kitty!
