Outside…
It’s still dark outside since it’s only 6:06 am, but in about an hour the sun will start coming out and the day will warm up, and it’s supposed to rain most of the day

Thankful…
For having today off work

I have about 3 hrs. left of Only One Life by Ashley Farley, and then I’m starting The Escape Room by Megan Goldin

I’m behind a few books but hope to catch up soon

All my aching parts are all better

In The Kitchen…
Taco Salad, Roast w/potatoes & carrots, BLT’s, Pizza. Oh, and I bought a watermelon and it’s in the fridge getting nice and cold!

New To Me Stuff:
I didn’t try anything new last week

Today’s To Do List…
I’m off today so we’ll probably go to out to eat and maybe see a movie

Life Is Good…
I went to the libary to get some books I had on hold and they had a “Fill A Bag For $2” sale so of course I filled a bag. I would have gotten more but with the books I had on hold and the bag, I couldn’t carry any more. I love my libraries!

A Favorite Bible Verse…
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

Ephesians 1:7

  1. Now I’m imagining that icy cold watermelon. I may have to stop by the store….

Look at that vine. Wow. Great photo.

I need to go see what you thought about Summer of ’69. Sadly, I was a bit too young to really experience ’69, so I’d like to enjoy it through someone else’s eyes.

    Have a great week!

    • I love watermelon! I put salt on mine which some people find weird.

      I love that tree!

I was only 11 in ’69, but I remember a lot about it.

  2. Enjoy your day off and all your new books!

  3. I hope you are enjoying your day off. Aren’t library sales the best?

    Have a great Sunday!

  4. What a surprise you had at the library. Our library has been selling some book that they took out of the system. For 50 cents how can you resist. We bought six books. 🙂 Enjoy your day off!

  5. The Art of Racing in the Rain was one I loved – 10+ years ago. I want to read The Escape Room as well. Hope you are having a nice day off.

  6. I hope you enjoyed your day off! Did you end up seeing a movie? That is so cool that you walked into the library and they were having such a great sale! I bet you got a lot of great books. I hope you have a wonderful week!

    • I did enjoy my day off, I rested most of the day 🙂

Nope, didn’t see a movie, I was really tired from a long hectic week so I rested all day. The only things I did was cook, do dishes, read, and checked my mail, blog, and FB. I hope you have a wonderful week too!

  7. Looking forward to Summer of ’69. Never watched BH90210 so the redo is not on my radar. Loved Art of Racing in Rain and look forward to the movie. Have a great week.

    • I watched 90210 because my daughter LOVED it and could not miss an episode. I enjoyed it, though not as much as she did 🙂

I thought I’d read Racing In The Rain but I guess I didn’t. With the movie coming out I want to read it before I watch it.

  8. I loved The Art of Racing in the Rain! I’m afraid to see the movie in case it’s a disappointment.

  9. Vicki, I enjoyed reading your reflections, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend/day off. I enjoy “shopping” at our library as well. I hope your week ahead is terrific!

  10. I use to watch 90210 with my mom when I was little (I was about 4/5 maybe) I just remember thinking Luke Perry was so handsome. I haven’t seen the new episode but I am thinking of rewatching the show since I’ve seen it on Hulu.

I have seen Summer of 69 floating around so I’m curious to see what you thought of it. I’m curious to see if I’d like it.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

    • My daughter was crazy about Luke too. So sad that he passed away 🙁

I loved Summer Of ’69 and most people I know that read it loved it too.

  11. You had the day off and still got up at 6am! I hope you had a nice time, whatever you did.

    Have a great reading week

    • I actually got up at 5 am, which is what time I have to get up for work. It’s hard for me to sleep past that even on my days off unless I stayed up really late watching tv or reading.

  12. Can’t wait to hear what you think about SkinnyTaste Fast and Slow — I think I might have an e-book of that and keep forgetting to cook out of it.

  13. Love the Bible Verse! Aren’t library book sales fun? Have a great week and I hope you can stop by:

  14. I sure love my library too. I always bring home too many treasures!

The SkinnyTaste cookbooks are great, those get checked out by me an awful lot and I ought to just buy one of the books.

  15. BH90210. It’s different, I’ll give it that. But it’s also a little sad that they are poking fun at themselves. I don’t know. It was kind of a train wreck but one that I will watch again.
