Sunday Reflections

Linking up with:
Sunday Salon
Sunday Post

Outside…
90’s today with a high humidity and little chance of rain

Thankful…
I live so close to my kids and grandkids

Reading…
An Elderly Lady Is Up To No Good by Helene Tursten

Listening To…
Only One Life by Ashley Farley

Books Reviewed Last Week…
None, I just keep getting more behind

Books Needing Reviewed…
I’m 5 book behind on reviews

From The Library…
Dogtripping by David Rosenfelt

Watching…
I planned on watching Chasing Happiness, the story of the Jonas Brothers,  but I didn’t get to it so I’ll be watching it this week sometime

Mind Body Spirit…
I’ve had a sinus infection for 3 days but it’s almost gone now, plus I got a new mattress and I’ve never had one like this before, so I guess it will take my body time to adjust to it because my back has been hurting a little bit

In The Kitchen…
Lasagna, Salmon, Chicken, Pulled Pork

New To Me Stuff:
My car phone holder bit the dust so I got a holder with wireless charging. It was expensive but I like that it mounts on the a/c vent because I’m short and the ones that stick to the windshild or dash make it harder for me to see

Today’s To Do List…
Work was tough today what with my sinus infection and back, so I plan on resting and letting my body heal the rest of the day, plus I’m off tomorrow and Tuesday 🙂

Looking forward to…
Trying out my new Instant Pot

A Favorite Bible Verse…
The pain that you’ve been feeling, can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
Romans 8:18

From the camera…

  1. Sinus infections are horrible! I hope you recover quickly.

I’m always behind on book reviews but I’ve been trying to catch up! I only have about 5 to go now (down from 14!)

    • It seems they’re more painful at night and so on top of the pain you get little sleep.
I’ve caught up on some of my reviews but really need to get the rest done.

  2. Hope you feel better soon. With the humidity, I would have a tough time.
I love those chairs, they’re very attractive.

  3. It has been so hot and humid where I live as well. It can get pretty stressful sometimes. I am also behind on my books, I haven’t read as much as I wanted to.
    Hope you feel better soon!

  4. Beautiful photo! I’m also happy my kids and grandkids live fairly close. Hope your back feels better soon.

    • My oldest son and two oldest grandkids live next door and my daughter and my two youngest grandkids live about 20 min. away. And I live with my youngest son.

  5. I love the chair photo and the Bible verse. I hope you feel better soon, Vicki!

  6. Sinus infections are awful. Let’s hope you are feeling much better soon.

I will be curious what you think about your Insta Pot. I’m still resisting.

Be sure to share your thoughts on Elderly Woman.

    Have a good week!

    • I resisted since the first IP was available, but after my latest CP need replaced I decided to stop procrastinating and just get one. I’ve added a few IP cookbooks to my Kindle, added a few books to my library list, and joined a few FB IP groups to learn about how to use the pot and get tips and pick a few recipes to start with.

My review of Elderly Lady will be coming but I’m behind on reviews so I don’t know how long it will be. I’m going to try and catch up quickly.

  7. You are blessed to have your family so close! I hope you are feeling better quickly.

    • I am definitely blessed to have my family close. Family is so important. Thanks Nise’. I am feeling better but my face is still swollen on the left side. It feels really weird.

  8. I love everything in your kitchen! Hope your sinus infection is totally gone. This week I used my pressure cooker twice: lentil soup and then lamb stew. I’ve been using a pressure cooker most of my adult life (stovetop before the electrics came out) and can’t say enough good things about it.

  9. Enjoy your days off, it sounds like you need the time to rest and recuperate.

    Have a great reading week

  10. How are you feeling today? It’s taking a long time for my daughter to fully recover from her sinus infection.

I have a phone holder that clips to my AC vent. I like the placement but it blocks air flow and when it’s super hot out, I feel it. I still prefer it over the ones that stick to the windshield though.

  11. Well,I was feeling better and then yesterday my face was very swollen on the left side. It’s down some today but now that side is hurting too. Sinus infections are not fun. I hope both mine and your daughter’s clear up soon.

Your phone holder sounds like mine. It does block some of the air but like you, I like it more than the windshield ones.

  12. I hope you’re feeling better by now–it’s so draining to feel poorly when it’s hot and you have to be at work. Glad you got a couple of days off and hope you’re able to rest.

    • Thanks Shari! I was feeling a little better until yesterday when the left side of my face swelled up and caused pain on that side. It’s down some today so I’m hoping by tomorrow morning it will be gone.
