  1. Your temperatures and humidity sound about like ours. We complain in our area, but it is July after all. And August has less humidity, but usually higher temps. Have a good week!

  2. I think I got The Overdue Life of Amy Byler on a Kindle deal, but have yet to get to it. I have a lot of those Kindle deals in my Kindle. I don’t know what I’m saving up for: a rainy day?

  3. I also loved The Glass Castle…both the book and the movie.

I have my eye on Have You Seen Luis Velez?

Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  4. I’ve read The Glass Castle but haven’t yet seen the movie.

Have a great reading week, and I hope the weather stays mild for you.

    • I usually read the book first but this time I was searchng for a movie to watch and decided to go ahead and watch it. It was really good!

  5. I haven’t see The Glass Castle movie but loved the book. I’ll have to see if the movie’s on Netflix.

  6. I read The Glass Castle years ago, and was reminded of it when I listened to Educated… both very disturbing. Never got around to seeing the movie. I’ve been curious about that sandwich at Arby’s and am now tempted to try it. Unfortunately, I’m getting into a reading slump and hope the next book will pull me out. My SIL was reading Amy Byler when she was here for the 4th and seemed to be enjoying it a lot!

    • I really want to start the book now that I’ve watched and love the movie. The sandwich is really good! I was going to start Amy Byler today but had issues with it again, so I started Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes instead.

  7. I thought The Glass Castle was an excellent book. Now you have made me want to see the movie!

Pecan Chicken Salad sounds delicious. I have lots of pecans. I need to look for a recipe.

I have been taking a yoga class at the Y for about eight years. I hope it is helping my balance. I do not want to fall again.

    Have a great week!

    • I have some diced chicken that I bought from Costco in the freezer and have been planning on making some Pecan Chicken Salad but haven’t yet. I’ve been thinking about joining the Y since we moved here in February, but haven’t yet. Falling is not good!

  8. Happy Sunday, Vicki! Lovely beach photo! I read The Glass Castle (a few years ago), then saw the movie (more recently). I look forward to your review of Magnolia Table. 🙂

    • I’ve been planning on reading the book since it was released and still haven’t. My review should be coming up in a week or two, I’m so behind on them 🙁

  9. I love the beach photo.
I read The Glass Castle a while back, but don’t really remember much about it.

  10. I saw a poster for that chicken sandwich at Arby’s and it looks pretty good.

I’ve read The Glass Castle. I had a similar childhood growing up, except it was never painted to be glamorous or interesting in any way so I think I am highly critical of the book.

Thar beach photo is lovely. Such a blue sky! It’s cloudy by our beaches right now.
