Sunday Reflections

Linking up with:
Sunday Salon
Sunday Post

Outside…
High of 96° with little chance of rain. It’s been really hot and humid the last few weeks and everytime I step outside my glasses fog up

Thankful…
That my daughter’s blood tests and other tests came back great!

Reading…
A Beach Wish by Shelley Noble  – still trying to download, grrrr
As We Are Now by May Sarton

Listening To…
Summer of ’69 by Elin Hilderbrand

Books Needing Reviewed…
I’m so behind on reviewing books I’ve finished, last count was 7

On Hold At The Library…
Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering by Joanna Gaines

Watching…
I’m trying to catch up on Toy Story 1,2,& 3 before I go see #4

Mind Body Spirit…
Exercising every day but haven’t been drinking enough water

In The Kitchen…
Yesterday I made a pot of Baby Lima Beans and cornbread so we’re having leftovers today

New To Me Stuff:
My ceiling fan light in my bedroom isn’t great for reading physical books in bed (it’s in front of me instead of behind me) so I bought a USB Book Clamp Light with 3 Color Modes, 10 Brightness Dimmer and Auto Off Timer. It’s awesome!

Today’s To Do List…
My son and I are going to Costco with my oldest son and daughter in law so we all can get groceries for a month. The freezer part of my fridge is full but we haven’t used our upright freezer since we moved.

Looking forward to…
I’ve worked a really long streak so I’m looking forward to having a day off, which is Thursday

A Favorite Bible Verse…
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer
Romans 12:12

From the camera…
Anyone know what these are? They just popped up at the end of the house one morning a few weeks ago. I didn’t even know they were there

  1. Those flowers are pretty, though I don’t know what they are. Have good week, Vicki!

  2. Wonderful news on your daughter’s tests! It’s warm here, too, but not quite that warm. We desperately need rain. Enjoy your day off!

  3. On the last day of the library conference, some of the publishers give away their books. You have to wait in line, though, sometimes for hours, and you only get to pick one book. I was second in line, and I was hoping so much to get a copy of a sourdough book. I remember the relief I felt when she told me she was going to pick Magnolia Table, not my sourdough pick. I was delighted, as I knew I could get MT at the library!

So glad your daughter’s tests came back with good results.

The flowers look like amaryllis, but I’ve never seen them that pretty purple color.

    Enjoy your week!

  4. That’s a fancy booklight, I want one!

    Have a great reading week

  5. I hope As We Are Now isn’t depressing you too much… it such a downer of a book, but so well written! I’m hoping to read Hilderbrand’s new book later this summer. The heat sounds oppressive! My husband was in FL with his father this week and even he said it was hot … and it doesn’t bother him as much as it does me. Good news about your daughter’s tests!

  6. Happy to hear that her blood test results came back good!!! That’s always a great thing to have happen. I hope you’re enjoying Summer of ’69. Here’s to hoping the upcoming week treats you well!

    • She’s been having some health issues and it looks like everything is back to normal and we are very happy about it!

Summer of ’69 is interesting so far.

I have a day off this week so that’s good 🙂

  7. 96 degrees is hot, too hot! It’s great that your daughter’s blood tests came back with good results, that’s always a relief.
    Enjoy your day!

  8. I’m happy to hear about your daughter’s tests. That’s great news! I’m on the waiting list at the library for Summer of ’69. I can’t wait to read that one.

Hope you have a great week!

  9. I’m glad to hear your daughters test results came back the way you wanted! It’s always such a relief. Enjoy Magnolia Table. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve made from the book except the biscuits. I don’t have the greatest luck with biscuits at anytime but these just didn’t work. The chocolate chip cookies are amazing though!

  10. Vicki,

What gorgeous flowers! I’m glad to hear that your daughter’s tests are good. Magnolia Table sounds like a wonderful book. I enjoyed your lovely Sunday Reflections post.

  11. Water is so important, especially in the kind of weather you’re having! Great news about your daughter’s test results!

  12. Some kind of lilies. Yay on the blood work. I really need to watch my water intake too — It’s so easy just to drink coffee or tea instead of water. And a book light with an auto off???? Brilliant idea.

  13. Yay for good blood tests! It’s too hot. It’s going to be 91 tomorrow and our air conditioner decided to stop working earlier this week and they can’t come fix until next week 🙁

    • Where we used to live our heat pump went out a few times in the summer months but never did in the winter. I can handle the cold better than the heat, just pile up some blankets and crawl under them.

  14. Hope your daughter’s blood work came back good.

In my head, a Costco run or a Sam’s Club run would be great to get the freezer filled with meat for meal planning, etc. But I know myself and I will end up with a 50 pack of something and a bunch of books and other things. Too dangerous for me to shop there.
