85°, with humidity the “feels like” is 95°, and it rained earlier and there’s an 80% chance of more rain

Thankful…
For the time I spent with my daughter, her family, and my son in law’s family in St. Augustine last Fri.-Mon., we had a lot fun!

In The Kitchen…
This week I’ll be making Baby Lima Beans & Cornbread, Turkey Roast with Honey Gold Potatoes & Carrots, Hamburgers & Fries

New To Me Stuff:
My daughter in law makes a really good Chai tea. She makes it with:
32. oz Original Silk Almond milk
32. oz Tazo chai classic latte
16. oz CoffeeMate Vanilla Natural Bliss creamer

I have never liked tea, but this is really good!

Today’s To Do List…
I worked this morning and now I have to do laundry. After that I’ll be reading, watcing tv, and relaxing.

Today’s Bible Verse…
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mark 12:30

From the camera…

Saw these two in St. Augustine last week on my mini vaca

  1. Friends of ours went to St. Augustine earlier this year and loved it. I’m glad you enjoyed it too.

  2. Your books look good. I have Summer of ’69 on hold at the library too. I can’t wait to read it.

  3. I love street musicians. Especially those with dogs.

Oh, baby lima beans and cornbread. I hope you’ll save some for me.

I’m intrigued by books about the 60’s. I have one here that I brought home from the library conference. It is called Summer of ’69 but it is written by children’s author/young adult author Todd Strasser. I plan to read it soon. Now I think I might also have to look for the other Summer of ’69.

    Have a great week!

    • Ditto on street musicians and dogs 🙂

I’ll save you some beans and cornbread, be here tomorrow at 6pm.

I’ve seen the book by Todd Strasser. I loved the 70’s so I can’t wait to see what you thought about it.

  4. I’ve only been to St. Augustine once, but loved it! Sure hope we can get back there soon. I’ve got HIlderbrand’s new book on hold, too… wonder if I’ll get it this summer.

    • We’ve been going there for many years and love it! My daughter lived there for a while a few years ago and wants to move back. Her and her husband said they’d buy a house with a mother in law suite for me ♥

  5. I always look forward to an Elin Hildebrand book! The tea sounds delicious, so does your menu this week. Have a a great week.

  6. Camille Pagan has been on my TBR list for ages.
I’m glad you had a great vacation with family.

    Have a great reading week

  7. Hope you love Summer of 69 — I did! Sounds like you had a nice time with family.

  8. Florida, my brother is there. It is too hot, too hot. It’s almost that hot here this week. Stay cool!
