Sunday Reflections

Linking up with:
Sunday Salon
Sunday Post

The high today is supposed to be 96° & 42% humidity, sunny & very hot with a slight breeze & low chance of rain

For yesterday and today off work, it’s been a while since I’ve had a weekend off

I’m slowly reading I Ain’t Doin’ It: Unfiltered Thoughts From a Sarcastic Southern Sweetheart by Heather Land because I don’t want to race through it, & I just started Nanaville: Adventures in Grandparenting by Anna Quindlen

Listening To…
4 1/2 hours left of Her One Mistake by Heidi Perks

Books Needing Reviewed…
Who Laid the Egg? by Audrey Sauble
I’m Fine And Neither Are You by Camille Pagan
Postcards From A Stranger by Imogen Clark

On Hold At The Library…
Things My Son Needs To Know About The World by Fredrik Backman
Furious Hours: Murder, Fraud, and the Last Trial of Harper Lee by Casey Cep

Full Force Nature on Netflix, only 1 season-2006 with 12 episodes

Mind Body Spirit…
I’ve found a few low carb/keto cookbooks that have some really good sounding recipes which I’ll post about when I make them

In The Kitchen…
I plan on making a big pot of spaghetti tommorow

New To Me Stuff:
My Bacon Bonanza by Gotham Steel which I’ve had for a few months but hadn’t used until yesterday while making breakfast, and I LOVE it!

Today’s To Do List…
Going to see Aladdin and then out to eat

Looking forward to…
My two youngest grandkids starting summer vacation the end of the month so we can go to the beach together, it’s been a while since we’ve all gone together

A Favorite Bible Verse…
Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
Proverbs 14:31

From the camera…

Boots quickly found her favorite spot when we moved. She lays there for hours every day watching to see who or what is going to go by next. In our neighborhood there are plenty of cars going by, people walking or riding bikes, chickens & cats roaming around and they all keep her glued to that spot, looking for whatever or whoever she’s going to see going by next

  1. It is too hot too early this year!

    I love the photo!

  2. Aladin looks like it’ll be a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy.

  3. It’s warmed up here, too. We are now hitting the low 80’s each day, a more normal sort of May than we had April, as April was quite cool. We haven’t hit the 90’s yet but those days are coming soon, I think.

What a lovely silhouette of your cat. Beautiful.

I just read and reviewed Nanaville. So much truth in that book, something I’ve always found in Anna Quindlen books. I want every grandparent to read it.

    Have a great week!

  4. I’m looking for a spot like that myself, to people watch and read. I keep moving from room to room, window to window. I think I’ve found two good spots.

  5. Wow, 96 is hot. It’s getting warmer here but not that warm. Hope you have a great week!

  6. Spaghetti is my favourite meal!

I hope you had a relaxing weekend and got started on Nanaville.

    Have a great reading week

  7. The photo is wonderful! Boots has found the perfect spot.
I hope you enjoy Aladdin, Vicki!

  8. That is so hot! Where I am, it hasn’t gone that high but it says it feels like that or 98. I meal planned for this week and I’ll be making spaghetti for Wednesday! Have a good week!

  9. Our feels like is always much hotter. It depends on how how the humidity is. I hope you have a good week too Genesis!

  10. That’s a good verse to remember. I work at a small town library and I need to remember that everyday.

  11. Cats do seem to love a low window. My cat loves sitting by one of ours and pretending he can do anything about the birds and chipmunks he sees. I hope you enjoy Aladdin and have a great week!

  12. I hope Aladdin was good. Eep, yes you are hot. We have had rain and thunderstorms every night. It should reach 84 today.

    • Aladdin was SO good, I highly recommend it if you like this type of movie. Today our “Feels Like” temp. was 104° due to the high humidity.

  13. Boots found the perfect spot!

  14. I love how Boots is silhouetted behind the curtain! It’s important for a cat to have a good vantage point!
Your 96f sounds too hot for me. We could do with a little more warmth here, but not so much as that

  15. When I saw the Aladdin trailer, I immediately thought the movie could go either way, good or bad. How was it?

  16. Now we know all about you!!
I like that you read such great books.
Hopefully I will be retired by this time next year. I plan on reading more, among other things.
