Melinda and the Wild West: The Award Winning Original Version

Melinda and the Wild West: A Family Saga in Bear Lake, Idaho #1
by Linda Weaver Clarke & narrated by Carolyn Kashner

Chapter 1
Heading West

Melinda wanted to do some good in the world. Perhaps make a difference in someone’s life. Maybe she could do some good by teaching school in southern Idaho in a small town. She had dreamed of going out West the visit her aunt and see how wild it really was. She had heard stories of outlaws, sheen pictures of the scenery in books, and now her dream was comeing true. She was going to teach school and board with her Aunt Martha. Melinda was floting on a cloud. Life couldn’t be better.

~ I usually don’t read books set in this time period but I thought that it sounded good so I’m giving it a try. I’m only on chapter 8 but I like it so far.

  5. Yes, stepping outside of our usual reads is not a bad thing at all. You can find some very good books that way. Like the sound of this one, Vicki.

  6. It’s not a time period I read often either, but I like the writing in the opening paragraph.

  7. I hadn’t heard of this one; the cover and intro makes me curious. Enjoy Vicki

  8. I like to try new authors sometimes too. Never know when you’ll find a new interest.

In response to your nice comment at my blog, I would love to see your granite countertops. They sound lovely, worth the wait. Good luck with remodeling, we are going to tackle bathrooms.

    • I’ve read this author before and enjoyed them all. I’m really liking this book too and plan on listening to the other books in the series.

We did a whole house remodel, down to the studs. What a job it was!

  9. I normally don’t either, but this one sounds cute.

  10. I love this author. I don’t read this genre much, but this is a wonderful author.

  11. Vicki,
I read (and enjoyed) this a few years ago, as well as other books by this author. I’ll bet it’s really good as an audiobook!
