Sunday Reflections

Outside…
Right now it’s 77° with a 10% chance of rain towards afternoon

Thankful…
That I got to spend the day with my daughter Kilah and youngest granddaughter Alecia yesterday. We went to the Florida Artists Gallery, a small gallery in a nearby town that showcases local artists and offers a variety of classes. I was looking for an ocean scene to buy.  I decided on one that had a long pier jutting out of the water and a bunch of sandpipers on the beach. My daughter bought one of an old farm house because she loves old buildings. Of course we also went out to eat and shopping

The Lido by Libby Page (hardcover) & The Shortest Way Home by Miriam Parker (Kindle)

Mind Body Spirit…
Any of you know of a meditation app that you’d recommend?

In The Kitchen…
Today I’ll make a hamburger for my son and I’ll eat a hamburger patty and we’ll both eat a vegetable

New To Me Stuff:
Today I tried a Starbucks Salted Caramel Mocha that I bought the last time I grocery shopped…it was ok but I like the Starbucks Frappuccino Caramel Coffee much better

This Week…
Tomorrow I take my dog Kaiyo to the groomer and after that she goes to the vet to get her yearly check up

A Favorite Bible Verse…
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert
Isaiah 43:19

  1. I’m jealous of your weather!

  2. Your weather sounds lovely. So does your day with your daughter. Very nice!

  3. Interesting photo, Vicki. The gallery is housed in that beautiful building and the statue is pretty nice too. Glad you found a nice piece of art that you liked.

    • There were a bunch of bamboo trees in the yard of the gallery and a lot of bamboo laying on the ground. I thought this would make a great photo. I love the piece of art I found.

  4. I envy your warm temps, it’s 22 here! Have a great week Vicki.

  5. That looks like a wonderful gallery… just visited their website. Glad you had a good day with your family. My daughter recommended the Headspace app for meditation. I downloaded it, but have yet to give it a try.

    • It’s small but it had a lot of art. There was also a section for artists who make jewelry etc. I really enjoyed it. Thanks, I’ll check out the Headspace app!

  6. Happy Sunday, Vicki! The gallery sounds wonderful and I will take a look at the website a bit later. Your photo is terrific. Kaiyo will look extra cute tomorrow after the grooming! Have a great week ahead.

    • The gallery was a delightful surprise! I never knew it was there since I live a few towns away. It was small but had a big selection of art. Yes, Kaiyo is getting a bit too furry so I’m happy she goes today.

  7. I wish we had your weather. It sounds like you had a nice day with your daughter and granddaughter.

  8. That gallery is lovely. I checked out the website you included. It reminds me of the artist retreats they have in Ojai, California which is not too far from me.

Hamburgers are so underrated. I really do love a good burger even if I am forced to have it as a lettuce wrap.

    • The Gallery is in a nearby town, population a little over 5000, which is the same as where I live.

I used to love hamburgers but now I prefer mine either as a lettuce wrap or just plain with a veggie like I had it yesterday (I had it with a tomato, okra, corn mix)

  9. I’m so glad you had such a great day with your family. The art gallery sounds like a good resource. You are veery blessed.

  10. What a fun day with your daughter. I couldn’t figure out the photo but I see you mentioned bamboo – cool shot.

    • It was a lot of fun Tina! There were a few bamboo trees in the yard and one of them had a pile of bamboo that had fallen off so of course I had to take a photo 🙂
