Laura glanced at her reflection in the rearview mirror as she waited for the light to change.

So tired. She looked so damn tired. And old. And pathetic, she thought as she noticed just how red her eyes were from the latest onslaught of tears that had come during the last hour.

  7. I haven’t read many short stories lately… hope you’ll let me know if this is a good collection. The cover is attractive.

  8. I’m not a big fan of short stories, but I do read them occasionally (I recently read a collection I loved). The opening lines have made me curious – I’m a sucker for characters in pain.
