Sunday Reflections

70°, wet and rainy. There are no distinguishable clouds but the sky looks white instead of blue, it’s been raining/storming on and off for about 5 days now.

For the rain but would like some days of sunshine too.

I’m slowly reading The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row by Anthony Ray Hinton & Framed in Cherry Hills (Cozy Cat Caper Mystery #2) by Paige Sleuth.

Listening To…
I just finished listening to Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens and yesterday I started listening to My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman. Stevens and Backman are definitely on my favorite authors list. I’ve loved every book I’ve read by them.

I’m trying to decide what to start binge watching on Netflix, any suggestions?

I’ve been getting a lot of exercise but not eating as healthy as I should have been, I need to work on that.

In The Kitchen…
Today I’m making spaghetti and cheese bread.

Today’s To-Do List…
I’m going to go through my bathroom and bedroom closets and decide what I want to keep or get rid of. Both closets are huge and I loved that when we moved in but now I’m not thrilled about having to go through all that stuff. The saying “make it big and they will fill it” applies here.

One of my favorite things:
Discovering new restaurants.

Looking forward to…
Going to the beach, hopefully one of my days off will be sunny.

A Favorite Bible Verse…

From the camera…

The place I work passes out things for “Today Is…” days and on Pretzel day they handed out bags of these cute heart pretzels. I had never seen heart pretzels before but I think they are so cute!

  1. It’s been wet and overcast around here for days and there seems to be no end in sight for it. I, for one, am over it.

Eating healthy is always a struggle. The good stuff never tastes as good as the bad stuff does.

  2. I’m over it too but it’s only the beginning of our rainy season so we’ve still got a few months of it. They also say it’s going to be an awful year for hurricanes.

  3. ha, hearts! I haven’t seen heart pretzels either. and I haven’t eaten pretzels in ages. now I crave some! 😉

  4. Oh the pretzels are too cute! Yeah there’s definitely a problem with lots of storage space – you find stuff to fill it. I’ve discovered that myself! We’re watching Lost in Space right now on Netflix. It’s a bit intense but I’m enjoying it. Have a great week!

    • I watched the original Lost In Space when I was younger. I did watch the first episode on Netflix but haven’t watched any more but plan to.

  5. I never seen heart pretzels but I love pretzels, they’re addicting.

  6. Happy Sunday, Vicki! I always enjoy reading your reflections. Good luck going through the closets. It can be a big and daunting job, but it’s a relief to clear out clutter, too. The heart-shaped pretzel is adorable. I’m a fan of pretzels. We it’s been cloudy here but we need rain. Have a terrific week ahead.

    • We always have a lot of rain during our rainy season. What I really don’t like is th thunder, lightening, and wind it brings.

  7. I’m going through stuff to clean out too. What a pain, but a necessary thing to do. We are downsizing and moving, so I have no choice.

    I love discovering new-to-me restaurants.

    Have a great week!

    • We’re downsizing too. Our house is a little over 2,300 ft. and there’s only 2 of us, plus 2 cats and a dog. It’s way too big for us. I’m thinking it will take quite a while to get used to living in a small house. I thought it was about 900 sq. ft. but I asked my son and he said no, it’s 832 sq ft. Wow!

  8. It’s actually drizzling today. Probably because my husband washed one of the cars.

My son has had weather in Orlando. He was actually sent home today because the park closed due to weather.

    • It’s not unusual for parks to close when bad weather hits. Sometimes if it’s just raining they’ll just shut the rides down though.

  9. I also like that heart pretzel. but what i like more is that whoever you work for is nice enough to celebrate these special days like this. Good for them. As to Netflix binge-watching – we’ve been watching Scandal, but I really can’t sincerely recommend it. It was pretty good the first season or two, but it is now (in third season) sinking into yucky soap-opera stuff. I’m okay with a little sex, but I’m too old-fashioned to watch men kissing men. So — how about a good gardening series or a food show? Good luck Vicki.

    • I think I’ll pass on Scandal but I love food shows. I just started watching The Rain on Netflix. Not sure if I’m going to stick with it or not yet because I only watched part of the first episode so far.

The company I work for is always doing things like crazy hat day etc. The other day we had a Hawaiian Luau and tomorrow there will be a Baked Potato Bar. It’s a good company to work for.
