Box of Butterflies: Discovering the Unexpected Blessings All Around Us

STRENGTH
All my life I have been drawn to the ocean. I love the sound of the waves. The natural rhythm of the ebb and flow is like a massage for my mind and my spirit. I have always done my best thinking by the sea. And I often take my worries to the ocean’s edge and quietly pray while I walk on the sand.

I love this book so far. I could have written the first paragraph myself

  1. I love the ocean, too; this book sounds delightful. Thanks for sharing…and for hosting.

  2. I’m with you Vicki – I could have written this paragraph too. I love the writing – “ebb and flow like a massage” is so beautiful. I have to haver this one.

  3. I love the sound of the sea too and I’m lucky enough to live on a small island surrounded by it – very soothing sound.

  4. That’s a beautiful first paragraph. I can imagine it’s going to be a lyrical novel, full of introspection and deep feelings…

  5. That intro reflects my feelings exactly about the ocean, sounds like a nice read.

  6. I don’t live near the ocean or near the mountains. However, I have found solace and peace in both types of places.

  7. I love the beach as well. I’m always looking for opportunities to walk along the shore no matter what season it is.

  8. I can relate as well! Love the serenity of being at the water’s edge.

  9. I like that opening, but it makes me want to go to the beach.

  10. The sound of the ocean is calling to us. Only 2 years until we can move – unless we win the Lucky Money lottery drawing tonight!

  11. I don’t like the sea so this opening does not do it for me. I am following the meme though.

  12. What a wonderful first paragraph! There’s something very calming about it.

  13. I’ve always liked Roma Downey but I have read anything by her.

  14. I feel exactly the same with my sea.
