Four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game’s jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji – you must survive it. To beat the game and return to the real world, they’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, and change the way they think about themselves – or they’ll be stuck in the game forever.

I didn’t have to work Saturday so my son Anthony asked me if I wanted to do something. We decided we’d go out to eat and then a movie. We asked my other son Jeremy and his wife Susie if they wanted to go with us and ended up going to Outback Steak House and then to see Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle. My grandson Jordan went to Outback with us but then had to go to work.

I saw the first Jumanji years ago when it came out and liked it so I figured I’d like this too.

I didn’t just like it, I loved it! It started out good and just kept getting better. I loved the actors and they all did a great job with their characters. It was really funny but also had some white knuckle moments, and I enjoyed every second of it. I think it was a lot better than the first one.

This movie is so good that I plan on buying it so I can watch it over and over.

Have you seen it? If not I recommend you do. Fantastic movie!

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle”

  1. I saw the first one and liked the concept but haven’t watched this version. I wondered if the video game version would be as good. Glad you liked it!

  2. Thanks for the review. I’ve been wondering about it. Glad it was a winner!

  3. I wondered about this one too. Glad to know it’s worthwhile. It’s been a bit since we’ve been to a movie. We are itching to see the new Star Wars movie, but have been confined to home since my husband’s surgery. One day, hopefully.

    • It was a toss up between Star Wars and this movie. In the end we decided to see this one. I’m glad since I’ve never really watched the Star Wars movies. Just bits and pieces.

I hope your husband has a quick recovery!

  4. This is probably too fantastical for me.

  5. seems to be an interesting story 🙂

  6. I really enjoyed it too! Actually, it was WAY better than I expected. I was worried about profanity use and crudeness going in (I was taking my daughter) but it wasn’t nearly as bad as I’d worried. We’ll definitely be watching this again!!

    • Yes, profanity and nudity are always a concern I have when watching movies with my kids, even though they are adults. I usually check online to see what all is in the movie before I go see it with them. If they want to see something I don’t want to see I just watch a different movie. That’s why I love multi movie theaters.

  7. Somehow I never watched the first movie but this one has really been tempting me. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! This is definitely on my To Watch list!

  8. Sometimes remakes aren’t that great so I am glad this one is pretty good. I love Kevin Hart.

  9. Vicki, I’m so glad you enjoyed this movie. It sounds like a great choice!

  10. Good to hear. I’m trying to convince my husband to watch it.

  11. I want to see this movie!

  13. My husband really wants to see this one so I’m glad to see your raves!
