I read an article @ Signature with a few words (and one phrase) that people used to say. I’ve never heard of any of them before.

Salad Days:
means our young, wild years

Swivet:
when we’re pressed for time and rushing around to get everything done

Oleaginous:
sickeningly ingratiating, “a brownnoser”

Dorbellist:
refers to someone who sounds smart but isn’t

Schadenfreude:
the pleasure you feel at other’s pain

Politicaster:
an unstatesmanlike practitioner of politics and a petty or contemptible politician

Struthious:
sticking one’s head in the sand

Gruntle:
to put someone in a good mood

  1. I knew schadenfreude and salad days but the rest are new to me. I LOVE dorbellist and am going to check out the pronunciation so I can use it.
