Sunday Reflections

Outside…
It’s 79°, and supposed to rain on and off all day. Don’t know if the lawn will get mowed or not today

Thinking…
About what colors to paint the inside of the house when it’s ready to be painted

Thankful…
That I had both Saturday & Sunday off, my son Anthony and I went to Clearwater yesterday to Skyline Chili and then to the Clearwater Beach. There was more people than I’ve ever seen there before and we had to weave in and out of them to walk down the beach, but I still loved being there, and the waves were higher than I’ve ever seen them too. It was a great day! The beach is my happy place!

Reading…
The Red Notebook by Antoine Laurain

Listening To…
Almost finished listening to The Marsh King’s Daughter by Karen Dionne

Watching…
We switched from Hulu to Netflix, so I decided to binge watch Grace And Frankie. I’ll be starting season one today

Creating…
Nothing right now

Hoping…
To get the grass mowed either today or tomorrow

Learning…
For the last few months I’ve been realizing that I like lighter, smaller meals now

Fitness…
I’ve been slacking on everything except walking and strength training, and I need to stop it

In The Kitchen…
Salisbury Steak, Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans

Today’s To-Do List…
Mowing the grass if possible, a few loads of laundry, a few movies, some reading, starting Grace And Frankie, and Big Brother.

One of my favorite things:
Days like yesterday

A website I’d like to share:
Don’t know what to make for supper with the ingredients you have in your fridge? Try My Fridge Food

Pin It & Do It…
Baked Pineapple Teriyaki Pork Chops

Looking forward to…
Going to Fred Howard Park Beach with my daughter and 2 of my grands

A Favorite Bible Verse…

A favorite quote…
“Animals are such agreeable friends―they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.” ― George Eliot

From the camera….

See how crowded Clearwater Beach was yesterday?

I’ve been going there for over 30 years and have never seen it so crowded!

  1. I enjoyed Gracie and Frankie. I hope you do too. I love binging on Netflix.

    Have a great week!

    • We started out with Hulu, but didn’t like it much, so we switched to Netflix, and I’m finding so many shows I want to binge watch.

  2. We went to Clearwater Beach in 2011. It was our grands first time to see the ocean. Fond memories from there. It sure wasn’t that crowded when we were there. I love the beach. It is my happy place too. Sadly I live in landlocked Kansas! I really enjoy your Sunday reflections. I hope to get my currently post tomorrow!! Have a great week!

    • My favorite beach is St. Pete because that’s where my mom and dad took me and my brother for Christmas vacation when we lived in Ohio. I also love a secluded beach my daughter found in St. Augustine. There’s never been more than 5 other people there any time we’ve ever gone to it. I like Clearwater Beach too, I love the sand and clear water. I was totally shocked to see it so crowded yesterday.

  3. The beach is my happy place, too! Looks like lots of other people had the same idea to head to Clearwater beach yesterday 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying The Red Notebook… I thought it was a lot of fun.

    • Lots of visitors due to school being out. The resorts/hotels were booked too. We had to park in a resort parking garage because we couldn’t find a parking space in any of the lots. Cost $15 for 3 hours to park. Usually we find a spot that’s free.

  4. Clearwater Beach sounds beautiful! I love to go to the beach. Have a wonderful week ahead, Vicki!

  5. Wow! Clearwater Beach looks crazy crowded! It must have been a perfect beach day. We have both Netflix and Hulu but I think if I was just picking one I’d pick Netflix. I watch a lot of TV on Hulu but Netflix is better quality. The Red Notebook is on my TBR but I don’t really know all that much about it. Hopefully you’re enjoying it. Have a great week!

    • It was crazy yesterday! I’ve never seen anything like it.

Hulu was ok but I didn’t watch that much on it. Netflix has a bunch of shows I want to watch.

  6. That is some crowd at the beach! We are opposites – when we vacation at St George Island we avoid the beach until it’s almost sunset, the sun bothers us immensely so that’s a bad thing about living in Florida. But we will be able to move within the next 4 years when we are both fully retired!

Love that site Fridge Food – that’s handy.

    • I’m not a fan of the sun either. I used to brown but as I got older I started turning red and then peeling. I have a beach umbrella to use when we go to the beach for the day. Yesterday was just a walk up and down the beach kind of day, which proved to be not so easy with all those people. The waves were crazy too!

  7. Gracie and Frank is great fun; hope you enjoy it. Sounds like a wonderful weekend! And thanks for the link to the recipe site.

  8. i went to Clearwater Beach in 1984 (LOL) we visited Disney with the kids. We stayed with a cousin in Oldsmar at the time. Enjoy your week Vicki

  9. I’ve lived in Florida for over 30 years and have had annual passes to Busch Gardens, Sea World, Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure. But I’ve only been to Disney once even though I only live an hour from it. I do plan on going back with my kids and grands sometime though.

I hope you enjoy your week too!

  10. Wow that beach is crowded! I haven’t ever been to Clearwater Beach but I’ve to Naples and vacationed there a few times. It’s very nice. It must be a bit of paradise living in Florida. Enjoy your week.
