Hosted by Hot Listens and the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

It’s time for a 2017 Audiobook Challenge update. I joined for the Weekend Warrior: 5-10, but I’m at Stenographer: 10-15. I’ve tried listening to audiobooks a few times but didn’t really enjoy them. Then after joining this challenge and trying them again, something clicked and now I’m addicted. I mainly listen going to and from work, so my list isn’t that long yet. I’ve reviewed all but the last two on the list. I need to start reviewing before I start the next one so I can keep caught up.

1. A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
2. Miracle at the Higher Grounds Café  by Max Lucado
3. My Name Is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout
4. A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley
5. 12 Years A Slave by Solomon Northup
6. Room by Emma Donoghue
7. Prayers For Sale by Sandra Dallas
8. Faithful by Alice Hoffman
9. The Broken Road by Richard Paul Evans

  1. Sometimes it’s hard to get into audio books. Some books are easier than others as audios.

  2. I like audiobooks for the most part. I can’t listen if I am tired though or I finish the book while I snore away. And then I have to try to find my place. There are some good ones on this list!

    • I’ve done that too, and it’s so hard to find where you last remember sometimes. I try not to start listening to anything if I’m sleepy.

  3. I have only listened to a handful of audio books, but I’d like to listen to more of them! This sounds like a fun and motivating challenge.

  4. I listened to the majority of the Harry Potter books on CD, great for driving long distances. You are doing well!

    • I’ve been listening to audio books to and from work on the Bluetooth in my car, through the Playster app on my iphone. I do have a lot of audio cd’s though, so may listen to them from time to time.

I’ve never listened/read the Potter books, or seen the movies other than bits here and there. My daughter in law gave me the dvd’s to watch but I haven’t yet. She keeps telling me to watch them and I keep telling her I don’t want to, but she won’t give up or take them back until I watch them. She may not get them back for a long time.

  5. You have a good list of audios. I have become addicted too recently. I like walking my dog with my audio going or even doing yard work. I’ll be interested to see what you have to say about the Alice Hoffman audio. Cheers.
