Sunday Reflections

Outside…
It’s 75°, sunny, and the sky is full of big fluffy clouds. I hope it doesn’t rain so we can get the yard mowed

Thinking…
About all those who lost lives or homes etc. during hurricane Matthew. My prayers go out to them all.

Thankful…
That we were spared any damage during Matthew. I thought it would be bad, but Hermine was worse where I live

Reading…
Tomorrow There Will Be Apricots by Jessica Soffer which is the Oct./Nov. pick for Cook The Books

Watching…
Doc Martin. I had never heard of this show until Tina posted about it. She was kind enough to send me a season of the show and now I’m hooked and watching all the re-runs on tv.  Love it!!

Fitness…
I’m still getting a lot of steps and strength training, but I’ve done something to my right wrist/hand. It’s really sore and a bit swollen, and I can barely stand to move it.

In The Kitchen…
Not a clue, might make something simple here, or maybe eating out.

Today’s To-Do List…
Relaxing all day, a bit of reading and watching tv

One of my favorite things:
My library system. Because of where I live, I can use three different counties libraries. That’s 18 different libraries!!

Pin It & Do It…
Sloppy Joe Nachos. Sloppy Joe, yes. Nachos, yes. But sloppy joe nachos? Hmmm. Not very healthy, but I’m sure wanting to see what the heck this tastes like

A Favorite Bible Verse…
Hebrews 13:16
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

A favorite quote…
“Happiness resides not in possessions and not in gold, the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul.”
Democritus

From the camera….

  1. Glad to hear all is well where you are. I was thinking about all my Florida blogger friends with this hurricane craziness. 18 libraries?? So jealous! Of course are neighboring libraries aren’t all that great but still – all those options! Relaxing today sounds nice. I might have to borrow that idea. Have a great week!

  2. We’re far enough inland that we didn’t suffer from the storm either but there are a lot of evacuees up this way.

  3. I’m glad to hear you are all doing well. Have a great week!

  4. I was in Florida last week-I missed the storms thankfully. Glad to hear you did too.

  5. Happy Sunday! Wonderful post, Vicki! I am interested to hear more about all of the libraries you have access to. I am glad that the hurricane did not cause damage in your area.

  6. We had it worse with Hermine too. I felt bad about the folks who had Matthew bearing down on them. It was a wicked storm.

I’m glad you are liking Doc Martin. I could live in that area of Cornwall, so lovely. Pity they only film that series every two years, only one season to go for the end.
What did you do to your hand?! Maybe you ought to get a brace or see the doctor. Take care of that early

  7. Glad Matthew didn’t come your way!

  8. Doc Martin is wonderful – quirky and warm. So glad you like it too!

  9. Can you believe we’re having blowing snow today! Yes, and it’s Canadian Thanksgiving Day but I just stayed home because it’s so cold. Hope it will warm up some later in the week. Your post is a good reminder, I do have to be thankful still, for all sorts of good things and blessings. 🙂
