Sunday Reflections

The sun is shining right now, but there is a 60% chance of rain around 3:00 this afternoon.

About about my mom. Today is her birthday. I miss her so much. I couldn’t have asked for a better mom. Love her always.

That the flooding near where I live wasn’t worse.

Daughter of Mine by Laura Fabiani…still.

Tonight I plan on watching Far From Home with Barry Watson, a movie I dvr’d about 1 1/2 months ago and haven’t watched yet.

A few diy crafts for when we move.

For less rain than last week, and not so much humidity.

That there are two parts to a plan, which are figuring out what you need to do to accomplish it, and then doing it. I have trouble starting the second part.

I lost 1 1/2 pounds last week. 18.5 to go!

In The Kitchen…
Leftover pizza, wings and salad
Soup & Sandwiches
White Bean & Chorizo Stew
The Best Whole Chicken In A Crockpot
Slow Cooker Hawaiian Pork Chops

Today’s To-Do List…
A few loads of laundry that I didn’t get to yesterday.

One of my favorite things:
My new bluetooth speaker. Now I don’t have to have my phone on me while I clean or walk on the treadmill.

Pin It & Do It…
DIY Chicken Broth Dog Treats (didn’t get them made last week)

Looking forward to…
Seeing my sister Susan soon, it’s been a while.

A Favorite Bible Verse…
James 1:22
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

A favorite quote…
“If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.”
― Mark Twain

  1. Thinking of you today – your mother’s birthday must be so bittersweet. Both beautiful memories and missing her. Hugs.
Great shot from the hotel window!

  2. Great post. Congrats on the weight loss – great job!

  3. Hi Vicki,

I didn’t realise you were moving – are you staying in the State, or moving somewhere else completely – I thought you enjoyed Florida?

Flooding in Florida – have you had that much rain, it’s a bit early in the season surely?

Our weather has been very humid for the past few days now and even the rain showers haven’t cleared the air. It’s night times which are the worst, a good night’s sleep would be much appreciated soon!

I chat with Laura Fabiani regularly through our respective blogs, yet I had no idea that she had published such a book with such an intriguing storyline. I am definitely adding this one to my list, so thanks for sharing 🙂

  4. Hi Yvonne~ Yes, we are moving. We’ll still be in Florida, just one town between where we are now and where we are moving.

We’re in our rainy season which is from June thru October, and yes, it floods sometimes in different parts of the state. We’ve had it get as high as our pole barn, about 25 feet from our house. It’s very hot and humid too, which I’m not a fan of.

Yes, Laura wrote Daughter Of Mine in…I think 2008. I’ve been wanting to read it so when the opportunity to join a tour came up I took it. That’s one sure way of making sure I’ll read the book and not letting it get lost again my list of books I want to read. I’m not through it book yet, but so far it’s really good.

  5. I like the two part plan, I too have difficulty with the second part.

  6. Congrats on the weight loss!!
