Yay!! I remembered to post for RRT!!!

Last Friday I went to my granddaughter Alecia’s 5th grade graduation. She was so happy to be graduating because next year she gets to go to middle school! Yep, a really big deal for her. At the graduation ceremony they surprised a few kids with awards. I guess Alecia is her grammy’s granddaughter because one of the awards she got was for the student who visited the library the most times during the year (Top Reader)! I couldn’t have been prouder!! I absolutely love that she loves to read as much as I do! Her teacher read them part of the book Flipped by  Wendelin Van Draanen, and Alecia loved it so much that the teacher bought her a copy!!

It’s hard to read the award, but if you click on the photo the writing is clearer.

  1. Hi Vicki,

Congratulations! and Well Done, to Alecia.

You must be so proud of her, she really is ‘a chip off the old block’ with her love of reading.

I love the synopsis for ‘Flipped’, which I had to check out just to get a closer look at that brilliant cover art, so simple, yet so effective.

Cherish those moments as they do grow up so quickly. My eldest Goddaughter is turning 33 this year and the youngest Godson just had his 16th Birthday!!

    Yvonne.

    • I am SO proud of her! The book does sound good, I may ask Alecia to borrow it so I can read it for Kid Konnection that’s hosted by Booking Mama on Saturdays.

Kids do grow up quickly, don’t they?

  2. Congratulations Alecia! She’s obviously one smart girl!

  3. Congrats to Alecia for being the Top Reader! How lovely!! Vicki, thank you for doing RRT. You’ve made my Tuesday! 🙂

    • I love RRT, but things have been so hectic lately that I keep forgetting to do it. Things have calmed down some, so I should be joining each week.

  4. Congrats to Alecia!

My daughter just finished 8th grade and is headed to high school next year. I can’t quite believe it. She didn’t let me post a photo of all the end of the year awards she got.

    • Congrats to your daughter! High school is such a big deal and I hope she has a great time and loves every minute of it. I loved school and wish I could go back and do it all again!

  5. Great award! I see a future book blogger 🙂
