Sunday Salon

        The Sunday Post

I don’t know what’s going on but for some reason, even though it’s hot as heck outside, I’ve had my a/c set on 75 for a week and sometimes even that feels a little chilly. Does that mean I’m getting old? Aren’t old(er) people always a little colder than everyone else? Since I’ve always been hotter than everyone else, this is very strange for me. And there’s got to be another explanation than my age. I’m not THAT old yet!!

Family News:
Not much to report, we’ve not been very interesting this last week.

On The Blog Last Week:

I’m reading…
The Rockin’ Chair by Steven Manchester

I’m listening to (audiobook)…
Dad Is Fat by Jim Gaffingan

I’m listening to (music):
Well, last week I showed you a music video that was stuck in my head. It’s still there, but now it has company, thanks to my son who showed me this~

That’s what I get for telling him about Ed Bassmaster!

I’m watching…
Cedar Cove, which is based on the book series of the same name by Debbie Macomber.

Strength training, cardio, pilates, deep breathing, stretching & lots of walking.

I’m looking forward to:
Watching the Under The Dome series since I didn’t start it yet.

I’m thinking…
About starting a local Volkssport group since there isn’t one in this area anymore.

I am thankful…
That my dog seems to be able to hear again. Don’t know what was wrong with her ears, but thankful she can hear me now.

In the kitchen…
Navy Beans & Cornbread

I’m going…
To the library one day this week to pick up some books I had on hold.

A favorite quote…
“You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.“ Deepak Chopra

One of my favorite things…
Using the pause button when someone is on the tv screen. Their frozen faces are hilarious!

A few plans for the rest of the week….
Mow the lawn, clean out the pole barn and clean the aquariums.

A picture I thought I’d share with you…

My favorite walking spot, the Hillsborough River State Park

  1. I’m glad your dog can hear again too. I was so sad for Milou when she lost her hearing.

  2. I don’t think it’s necessarily age, Vicki….I’m pretty old (LOL) and I’m still feeling hot during the summer. My AC has to be at 72-75.

It’s easier to deal with cold than heat, I think…you can add layers. (Or turn down the A/C)

I giggled at your “pause” button mention. Yes, that is funny.

I wish I could watch the Cedar Cove series, but the Hallmark Channel is not part of our package. Is it online anywhere? I should check.

Navy beans and cornbread sound yummy!

Enjoy your week….and here’s MY SUNDAY UPDATES/MAILBOX MONDAY

  3. I’ve been feeling cold alot lately even though everyone around me is feeling hot. I figured I was getting old too 🙂

I love the TV series Under the Dome. I really need to read the book.

  4. I love those non-interesting weeks. I have been watching Cedar Cove too!! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on The Rockin’ Chair. It is making its way around my family right now. I just had to share it with them.

    Have a great week!!

  5. I’ve been curious about Dad is Fat because I think Jim G. is HILARIOUS 😉 I hope you’re enjoying it!

  6. What a beautiful place to walk — thanks for sharing your Sunday!

  7. Those same ole, same ole weeks are okay in my book! I like Under the Dome and am recording Cedar Cove. Glad your dog is hearing again, hope it continues. Have a great week Vicki!

  8. Hi Vicki,

There is so much going on in this post, that I don’t know where to start.

I don’t think that the feeling cold issue is necessarily age related. The woman I work with, who is in her 50’s the same as me, is always cold, whereas I am exactly the opposite. Even when the temperatures outside recently were up in the high eighties, the first whiff of a slight breeze and she was rushing for her bodywarmer. Me, I can’t sleep unless we have the fan on and we have the thinnest tog rated duvet you can buy!

I am loving the sound of the book you are reading. Steven Manhester is not an author I am familiar with, but all of his books sound like excellent reads and have received pretty much unanimously high ratings on all the major sites. A definite for my reading list, I can’t wait to catch your review.

    Have a great week.
